I did’nt really expect a reply.
However, I consider this lack of accuracy the same as a roulette ball stopping at 32 red and the croupier saying it’s black or being given the four of diamonds in Black Jack, to be to told it’s actually the Ace of Clubs.
Surely the racing industry can get the runner name correct?
An ironically named example of what happens when you have different sources of entries and different sources of results.
Unless you can persuade domestic authorities always to use their own breeding suffix such instances will happen repeatedly.
The ideal would be a worldwide convention covering the entire entries, declarations and results process for thoroughbred racing, including jockeys and trainers having the same style regardless of which country they were operating in and agreed metrics for measuring distances.

I would love to say that I find RI useful.
Currently RI is an outdated, inaccurate, simple " what if " fun timewaster. Falls over and fails at the slightest request of complexity.
I used it for the first time today.
I like the draw analysis, because of the ability to adjust number of runners, going, type of race, and timescale. Used it for the first race, at Leicester today. Chucked a fiver at each of the high draws, and nearly got the monthly subscription back in one hit. Would have done if I’d gone for the betfair SP instead of taking a price of about 18.
I’ll also find it useful for lots of sire-related stuff.
Updated it at lunchtime, and lost today’s racecards! Replaced by tomorrow’s!
Looking at a racecard is a bit of a culture shock, as it is full of numbers, and I don’t know what they represent.
The thing I most want to find out is a rundown by trainer of how their horses fare when they have won lto. Tried running the query a couple of times, but aborted it. Not sure how many hours or days it would take to complete.
I’ve already exported all of the data for 2009, but I haven’t tried importing it into a spreadsheet yet.
There’s nothing I like more than doing a bit of gratuitous aftertiming to annoy people. Here’s me in action on the betfair forum, though in my defence people there and here knew that I had only just started using draw analysis, and I didn’t know whether it would work. Still don’t.

The time to worry is when one’s sold to race in Hong Kong and then assumes a completely different name, think someone mentioned South Easter the other day.

The Chinese are very superstitious about names, hence why so many of the horses that go to Hong Kong have their names changed. Seeing as they don’t breed in HK, pretty much every horse there is imported of racing age and therefore is already named. Some of it may also have to do with how the names sound phonetically in Chinese.

Ladbrokes too have made a similar goof on the 2.30 …..
