I don’t think any of Reforms policies stand up to in depth scrutiny. As for net zero, just look at the temperatures we’re experiencing at the moment. Probably too late already. Nobody actually supports ‘illegal immigration’. But stopping it isn’t as easy as some people think it is. Farage makes my flesh crawl; he is the ultimate snake oil salesman who just says what he thinks people want to hear. I don’t understand why people can’t see him for what he is. And I still hold him responsible for Jo Cox’s death.
July 1, 2025 at 17:06 #1735289People regurgitate what they are shown in the media.
Indeed.
soon it will be Burkas for our great grand daughters and no Christmas festivals. Also a mosque at every beauty spot in the UK.
July 1, 2025 at 17:10 #1735290If, heaven forbid, Reform wins the next election, I’ll just emigrate.
July 1, 2025 at 17:28 #1735292What would be wrong with protest? The right to do so peacefully is a fundamental pillar of democracy.
July 1, 2025 at 17:36 #1735293Not according to Starmer and co…
July 1, 2025 at 19:01 #1735295“What would be wrong with protest? The right to do so peacefully is a fundamental pillar of democracy”.
Protesting for losing the general election? Because it gave the wrong result for you?
Haha, I find that really funny.July 1, 2025 at 19:07 #1735298If I feel the country is turning into a fascist state yes, I do hope that people will be protesting…
July 1, 2025 at 19:12 #1735299Do you know what a fascist is moehat and give your definition of one?
July 1, 2025 at 19:34 #1735300Far right and racist? Does anyone relish the thought of a cabinet consisting of Tice and Lee Anderson?
July 1, 2025 at 19:47 #1735301How are they far right and racist? What have they done to be given these labels?
We need some evidence for the name calling surely?July 1, 2025 at 20:05 #1735302People can protest peacefully for just about anything they like, I never said anyone has to listen.
July 1, 2025 at 20:20 #1735303I think a person or party that tries to gain popularity by singling out a recognisable minority of people in a country and making everyone else think that those people are the root cause of all of their grievances is my idea of right wing and racist. Still it worked for Brexit and it might just work come election time.Either way I’ve been around for long enough to recognise a wrong’un when I see one.
July 1, 2025 at 22:13 #1735310Absolute shambles.
Wanted to save £5.5bn.
Ended up costing extra £0.1bn.
Source of figs: The IFSStarmer and Reeves are finished. Authority over their MPs is zero.
Any credibility they had is “shattered” – quote from R Peston, just now, on ITV news. And he defo aint no right wing nutjob.
Oh, and there’s virtually NO Welfare reform
(again, Peston quote)July 1, 2025 at 22:26 #1735311I have little time for Starmer, but the media’s narrative that he is “finished” this evening is absolutely ridiculous.
July 1, 2025 at 22:40 #1735312Exactly, to be replaced by whom? There won’t be an election unless a significant number of Labour MPs decide to vote themselves out of a job four years early so it would have to be someone from within the party.
July 1, 2025 at 22:48 #1735313Starmer is a PM in name only. He is NOT leading, his MPs are.
A puppet ‘leader’.
The pretenders to his throne will be on manoeuvres over the coming months.Their fiscal and economic credibility is absolutely shot.
Despite their huge majority the Labour Party is not ready to reform. Increasingly, you’ll see the likes of Burnham and Khan calling the shots.
Starmer and his team are at the mercy of their large majority. And, more importantly, so are the taxpayers of the UK, whilst welfare continues to absolutely screw ‘the rest’ and growth will continue to stagnate.
July 1, 2025 at 23:47 #1735314Isn’t one of the problems the fact that peoples disabilities are now assessed over the phone and not in person? Which doesn’t make much sense to me. I must admit to not understanding the ins and outs of this bill although my MP is trying to explain it to us in simple terms.
