The Supreme Court was very clear that any kind of discrimination against trans people is still illegal.

J.K Rowling has never suggested any harm should come to trans people. Unfortunately that is not a courtesy the militant trans lobby has extended to her. The idea she is the bad person here is

Rowling isn’t picking on any vulnerable group. Instead she is defending one against a well organised, well funded cult.

The overwhelming majority of people agree with her opinion. Last week the Supreme Court agreed with her as well.

The “Trans” movement is based on a lie. No one can change their sex. People are born male or female. Only a tiny number of people are born intersex.

If anyone doubts that truth, perhaps the eminent biologist Professor Robert Winston might persuade you. Here he is speaking on “Question Time”, clearly to the displeasure of Fiona Bruce and some of the audience. But their displeasure doesn’t alter the fact he is correct.

It is rather difficult for his opponents to angrily denounce him as “far right”, given he is a long time supporter of the Labour Party and takes the Labour whip in the House of Lords.

I suppose it is 1.01 for what Badenoch will be asking Starmer about at 12pm. ;-)

Starmer has tried to distract attention by metaphorically wrapping himself in the St George’s Cross and pretending to be patriotic. When in fact St George’s Day is actually on 28th April this year.

Of course, Starmer couldn’t resist turning it into a finger wagging lecture. But no mention of the lawlessness on Saturday.

Are his ears made out of tin?

Meanwhile, Badenoch herself is vulnerable to attack given that Robert Jenrick has openly discussed the idea of a coalition between the Conservatives and Reform. Something Badenoch has consistently ruled out. It looks like Jenrick openly undermining what little authority Badenoch has left.

The Supreme Court was very clear that any kind of discrimination against trans people is still illegal.

Indeed and it’s not a zero sum game with winners and losers, they made it clear that it was not a victory for one group over another. Personally I didn’t like all the Champagne spraying or angry protest, no need for either.

It’s perfectly possible to want to protect single-sex spaces and ensure that provision can be made for trans people to live their lives in peace (as the vast majority already do). Instead of all this political point scoring, I’d much rather see constructive and respectful discussion on how we make that happen. We have clarification of the law, now let’s make it work for everyone.

There is however one section of the judgement that seemed to suggest that women now living as men can be excluded from male facilities for not being men and also female ones for essentially ‘looking too masculine’ so I’m not quite sure how that works. I find the legal language a bit tough to read at times though so perhaps I’m misunderstanding it or maybe it makes more sense in the overall context of the (very lengthy) full text.

Starmer is asked to apologise to Rosie Duffield. And he in effect refuses, spouting a whole load of lawyer speak instead.

Just when you thought he couldn’t get any more contemptible, he does. He recalls Milton’s description of hell: “In the lowest depths, a lower depth”.

What a cowardly little weasel. With apologies to weasels.

Why anyone should be surprised by Labours reaction/statements to the ruling from the PM down is really quite beyond the pale as the party is driven by ideology and they won’t let any inconvenient biological fact stand in the way of their beliefs.

Badenoch was not very effective yesterday, as usual. She had a real opportunity to inflict some blows on Starmer but none really landed. Rosie Duffield did more without even saying anything.

I suppose it will be left to those fearless interrogators from the Fourth Estate to hold him to account instead. ;-)

Just came across this which with eco zealot Ed Miliband’s mission to carpet the country with solar panels seems a little self defeating?
    Experiments to ‘dim’ the sun.
The Advanced Research & Invention Agency has come up with the idea of spraying aerosols into the stratosphere and brighten clouds with sea salt particles to reflect sunlight away from earth, with experiments costing the taxpayer £50 million.
    good luck to all

Playing God and mucking about with mother nature now BK.

Plants need CO2 to survive, we’ll starve as well now.

I don’t think he has anything against you BK, but something against the Tory party most definitely.

Reform wins the Runcorn & Helsby by-election by 6 votes. The first time Labour has lost a by-election within a year of taking office since the contrived Leyton by-election in 1965.

A Labour statement said: “Voters are still rightly furious with the state of the country after 14 years of failure.”

It is quite a novel excuse to say your opponents are responsible for you losing a by-election.

Repeating a mantra which people are already tired of hearing is not going to impress anyone. You own your defeats and take responsibility instead of whining about it.

Ros Jones, successfully re-elected as Labour Mayor in Doncaster (albeit by a reduced majority), does at least understand. She attributes her party’s performance to the removal of the winter fuel payment and the hike in national insurance hitting small businesses. She could also have added continuing to cover up the grooming gang scandal but I suppose a Labour politician in Yorkshire doesn’t want to mention that.

The issues Jones raises are the directly responsibility of Reeves. I wonder how much longer this walking disaster zone can last in Number 11. The Labour grass roots are clearly angry with her.

Beales in Poole today. Everywhere else tomorrow?

Starmer is now odds on with Hills not to be Prime Minister at the time the next General Election is called. An extraordinary situation for the leader of a party which won the last such contest by a huge majority a little under a year ago, albeit a majority built on sand.

I can’t think why Starmer might be lacking credibility.

It is probably only a matter of time before Olukemi Olufunto Adegoke Badenoch gets the push. Even though the Conservative Party looks to be in terminal decline, it still doesn’t like losers. She has made zero impact and I doubt she will be tolerated much longer.
