Jacques Ricou , who was the jockey of number one trainer in France Guillaume Macaire , has just signed a three years contract with Sean Mulryan for the horses trained in France by Arnaud Chaillé-Chaillé.Hervé Barjot , manager of Mulryan’s stable, said he would like a jockey available to ride the horses in training regularly.Ricou lives near Royan and Chaillé-Chaillé’s stable whereas Christophe Pieux lives near Paris ,500km away from Royan.
The manager also says Ricou is perfect because he has ever rode and won in England, in particular with Jair du Cochet. We don’t know what Macaire’s reactions are so far and If he’s looking for a new jockey. It ‘s a big loss for the crack jockey Christophe Pieux who has almost earned the half of his prize money with Mulryan’s horses in 2006.
