Rightly or wrongly, common sense has prevailed and Mouse has lost the battle but hopefully not the war. How he thought he could beat Bobs worth I don’t know but let’s just hope Davy Russell is right and First lieutenant gets his just rewards
March 12, 2013 at 12:35 #432213Good luck at Cheltenham Gord. Particularly with MTOY! He’ll start nearer Evens than 2/1.

Let’s bash those bookies!

I think he’ll be a solid 2/1 shot myself as the stats are really negative. This might sound stupid but I’d rather
My Tent or Yours
be 5/1 and
Jezki
the hotpot fav purely on how bad short priced favs fare in the ‘Supreme’.My attitude is **** the stats but I’m certainly expecting at least one horse to trouble my fellow, this imo is a far better race,a Class race in fact compared to the Betfair hurdle. We will see a couple of Gold cup horses in
Un Atout
and
Champagne Fever
a Champion hurdler in
Jezki
, an Arkle horse in
Puffin Billy
and a dissapointed TAPK if we dont get up the bloody hill,I dont care how unimpressive he looks in Winning,so long as he does.I wouldn’t touch him at 2/1 against this lot Ginge but I’m not having a penny on against him……….Stubborn T*at I hear you say!!
March 12, 2013 at 13:19 #432219My long shot at 40s for the RSA has the age stat to beat however he will be running on late and better than most

The Coral looks wide open again and very tricky but I am sweet on Saphire du reu in the Fred Winter

I think that sums it up! Im dissapointed but not gutted, hes ran an awesome race against a proper staying type. One year from now
My Tent or Yours
will win the Champion hurdle, he travels with incredible ease and can only get better!
March 12, 2013 at 18:23 #432263Well Gord, tomorrow is the day. Its been an up and down ride the past few months and tomorrow the troops finally go into battle.
Have been looking through all bets placed since last March and I have to say at this point in time i’m really happy with how things sit. Generally i have some really good chances with a few really good prices. A few picked up from this top thread which i have no doubt will fly back into profit, hopefully by the end of this week. Anyway thanks for the input, fingers crossed we can get a few winners on the board!
Bog Warrior (20’s), MTOY’s (20’s), Rule The World (20’s), Bostens Angel (10’s), At Fishers Cross (6’s), Boston Bob (8’s), Cape Tribulation (33’s), Siren Dainey (50’s), Our Conor (4’s) and Dynaste (8’s) are just a few that i’ll be cheering home this week.
Quick word for Darlan – he’d be carrying those round that Champion tomorrow.
Anyway all the best mate – be lucky!

I right mixed bag today – could so easily be showing a huge profit this evening.
Thought the Supreme was an absolute cracker. Although now quite getting up, MTOY’s was by no means disgraced getting outstayed on that ground by a horse that will IMO be contesting Gold Cups! On better ground he would have won cosily and i’m praying that Hendo goes for The Champion next year because the 66/1 im sitting on is burning a hole in my pocket, already!!!…..only 365 days and counting!
My biggest cheer of the day was the french mare Siren Dainey. The unknown french jock gave her a smashing ride and i was jumping round like a lunatic having backed her WITHOUT Quevega at 33/1

Anyway its onwards and upwards. More of the same from Boston Bob and Rule The World tomorrow please.
March 12, 2013 at 19:28 #432281Gord what your overall thoughts on the 1st day of racing i am happy with my 4/1 winner on SIMONSIG he beat that SS horse next year he will.He learn to settle next year and be a better jumper but has the pace to beat that horse.
Also not heard no news on ROCK ON RUBY but what chance you give it for Arkle next year. it lacks the raw speed of last 2winners but has awesome festival form only getting beat today and by First Lieutenaint. And won champion hurdle too.Maybe it should go over fences now.
And sad that MTOY lost today i wish it would win for you today coming to the last you still think it win champion hurdle.
March 12, 2013 at 20:33 #432296My bets tomorrow are
GOSMEJUDGE
RULE THE WORLD 10/1
BOSTON BOB 8/1
UN BEAU MARTIN
COUNSEL
DRUMLEE in bumper
March 12, 2013 at 20:45 #432304Well Chaps today was virtually a Mirror image of Day 1 from last years Festival for me,No winners and the Banker of the day running a gallant second in the ‘Supreme’.I said straight after last years race that
Darlan
would win this years Champion hurdle and I’d stand by that after todays Champion hurdle result.I was even more impressed with
My Tent or Yours
though he ran an absolute blinder in an incredible time and my 33/1 for next years Champion will keep me warm through a cold Summer!OLAS well played for taking the 66’s! Todays ‘Supreme’ only proves what a phenomenal race it is and it takes a Good one to win it,
Champagne Fever
is just that, but he’s a Chaser in the making and will be Novice Chasing next year,MTOY has the perfect profile to spend at least one more year hurdling and I wouldn’t swap him for anyone,he’ll emulate exactly what ‘Binocular’ did the year he was run out of the ‘Supreme’ close home.Keep the faith lads he’s a special horse!
Performance of the day however goes to the horse that we all moan about seeing to little of but when she runs a race like todays its easy to forgiveQuevega
,that was something else, she only traded at 5’s in running though when I expected 50’s.Dissapointment of the day however goes to
Simonsig
,I was hugely dissapointed in his jumping and he never travelled properly at any point,he almost bolted jumping the first 2 fences and is just too headstrong!
I dont know what would have happened withCarlito Brigante
as his race was ruined but the ground today was still ‘unique’!
I’m looking forward for tomorrow and keeping Ruby at bay, particularly in the RSA!!Come onRule the world
too!

Do you mean you did Sirene D’Ainay without the favourite? If so, where, olas? I’m kicking myself for not doing the forecast, as I’d intended to do all my long shots with the favourite to small amounts.
March 13, 2013 at 10:29 #432412Bookies hammered yesterday, think we could see some outsiders popping up today.
130 – I’m on Emperors Choice at 40s and Rival Destruval in doubles and EW trebles.
205 – Chatterbox is the dark one but Pont should hose up.
240 – Houblon des Obeaux might get run out of it.
400 – I’m on Abbey Lane at 14s and 12s with the 10lb claimer looks nice at 20s first 5.
440 – I’m on Sapphire de reu at 12s and Fatcatinthehat at 16s and 14s.
515 – hate the race but got Purple Bay at 100s and will back Golantilla to winGood luck mate and the grounds drying out for your big guns
March 13, 2013 at 10:31 #432414400 should say Erict has a chance with the 10lb claimer
March 13, 2013 at 14:31 #432464What a difference a day makes,a fantastic start with
Back in Focus
a winner that looked beat jumping the last but just like yesterdays start, its all about getting up the hill.
Rule the World
ran a blinder too but he’s a chaser in the making, the winner certainly isn’t but he’s got a burst of speed that will stand him in good stead over hurdles on Good ground. As for
Pont Alexandre
,I cannot believe Ruby rode him like that, for a horse seen as a thorough stayer he took them along at a crawl and basically set it up for speedier sorts, that was a poor ride!
March 13, 2013 at 14:51 #432468Mixed fortunes there in the RSA,I was lucky to collect 3rd place with my 25/1 shot
Hadrians Approach
who cant jump for toffee but I was cheering home
Boston Bob
for £3k there and I’m convinced he’d have won!! OUCH THAT HURT!
March 13, 2013 at 14:57 #432473I dont know what Paul Townend was doing whacking
Boston Bob
several times right handed into the last there, that did not help!

That was a poor ride Ginge,Pauls had him settled lovely jumping cleanly all the way round,he commits him on the bend and he sweeps past them all with plenty left and yet going to the last he ‘attacks’ the bloody horse with several unnescessary back handers and causes the horse to tighten up onto the rail even closer than need be,the head on shows he’s forced him right into the wing of the fence. One has to question what on earth was the Jockey doing as the horse tightened up due to the whip strikes and definitely caused the horse to be distracted by his jockeys urgings.’Boston Bob’ had been given the opportunity to stretch out nicely going to the last and then pop it and his stamina would have got him up the hill easily. In my opinion Paul should have kept him behind at least one horse going to the last and allowed him to target something to run past up the hill as he did last time out.Pocket talk Yes! But justified imo that was a very strange ride and we’ll hear more about it yet!
