4.00 Salisbury Sunday 17/6

A nice little Listed Race pre-Ascot I’ve had a run through.
At least the field size is manageable vs what we are up against as the week goes on!

Eton Rifles – Should go well but won’t find it easy giving weight away to his rivals. Trainer form a big concern for me. Current Odds = 7/1 My Odds = 6.05/1

Bathwick Bear = NR

Definightly – Could do with softer ground. That is enough to put me off her. Current Odds = 10/3 My Odds = 7.38/1

Libranno – Group 3 winner over 7f last year. Not shown much this season but trainer in better form now. Certainly has the class to take a part at the business end. CO = 8/1 MO = 5.09/1

Morache Music – C+D Winner who has the potential to improve as a 4yo. Trainer form again a big worry for me. CO = 16/1 MO = 8.57/1

Our Jonathan – Ayr Gold Cup Winner who won a small race fto this season and looks sure to go well here. CO = 6/4 MO = 5.7/1

Chilli Green – Expect her to be outclassed up in grade. CO = 33/1 MO = 13.89/1

Golden Delicious – Likewise re class. CO = 50/1 MO = 13.89/1

Sos Brilliante – Likewise re class. CO = 100/1 MO = 25.8/1

Artistic Jewel – One I like. Got ideal conditions today and I expect her to go well. Concerned by the market drift this morning though, now out to 12’s. Co = 12/1 MO = 5.7/1

Summary – There looks to be a fair few prominent runners in the race so Our Jonathan, coming from off the pace, looks like he will have the race run to suit. However his price is too short in my opinion versus some of the competition.

I’m going to go with Libranno (2pts @ 8/1) for the Hannon/Hughes combo with a saver on Artistic Jewel (1 pt @ 12/1).
