    “He wasn’t even 7. He’s a late foal. Still technically 6.”

Emmett Mullins just said on RTV that the horse won a bumper just 14 months ago.

    Blimey!

An incredible story and a fabulous race. Noble Yeats started drifting ante-post almost immediately after he was purchased. I’m so pleased for all involved. Sam’s been called a few names, undeservingly, and to see him finally get that National win was very satisfying.

You knew Snow Leopardess’ fate fairly early on. As suspected she just couldn’t keep with them and was looked after. Could be aimed at the Veteran’s Final if she stays in training.

Fiddlerontheroof returns a bit for me. Lostintranslation ran a screamer and clearly enjoyed the fences. There’s an awful lot to take in.

Well done anyone who found the winner. We need new stats!

He went off 50/1 SP but only 28/1 on Betfairs SP…. bit awkward

Cracker of a race , great one for the bookies , a top weight that couldn’t win and a mare who didn’t have the form to ( she was playing up before the off to help the bookies even more ) , my antepost on any second now and Santini got me out , little disappointed in Fiddler ( did get some e.w back ) but hopefully there,s still more to come from him , hats off to Waley-Cohen , an amateur in name only , watching him and Walsh battling from the overhead camera , you can’t tell the difference

“Speaking of bookies 39 of the 40 horses had the same or bigger BSP than SP. Guess which one was shorter and a lot shorter at that…”

    Very interesting indeed.

Run Wild Fred was shorter at Betfair Exchange too, but the Betfair SP of the winner is quite an eye catcher.

Has this winner landed a gamble for people who can’t get on with the bookmakers?

Bet365 had boosted the winners price to 80-1 just before the off, but of course i didn’t add that to my excessive list
At least a couple of mine got placed.
Santini ran a blinder, and good to see Lostintranslation take to the fences so well.
Fingers crossed all the horses are ok.
Was a great race and huge congratulations to all connections.

I have to question the minimum age of 7 for the National nowadays. Horses seem to be more precocious, and Cyfor Malta’s stunning performance over the big fences in the Topham as a 5 year-old lingers long in the memory.

Eh, as a backer of Any Second Now that run-in was disappointing personally, but it is a great story for Sam Waley-Cohen. What a way to end your career!

And, of course my sister-in-law backed him at 66/1, because she ‘loves poetry.’
