If I was a little fitter would take you up on that bet. Not feeling 100% at the moment.
Value Is EverythingApril 10, 2021 at 14:22 #1535598Ginge why do you think its bordering good, based on one completed race 16.5 seconds slower than standard?
And no worries about the bet mate, feel better soon.

April 10, 2021 at 15:57 #1535627tbh Have not done the slow by figure divided by furlongs I should. But if an amateur class 2 race has the best time (9.85 seconds slow) it usually means the other races would’ve been faster had they been strongly run… And the only Grand National course race (Topham) 9.66 seconds slow and that was over further than the 2m amateur race. So looking at seconds per furlong was quite a bit faster.
Today I didn’t watch the first race but the second was definitely slowly run. At last a well run Grade 1 in Shishkin’s 6.69 secs slow. If the Grand National course has been watered to be the same softness as the Mildmay, then (considering it’s seconds per furlong that matter) our non-bet will be close. I think our ex-TRFer Ms Varma may well be pretty much spot on with her going description. Either just on the soft side of good or just on the good side of good-soft.
Value Is EverythingApril 10, 2021 at 16:30 #1535639Put a bit more on my ante post bet Class Conti, and add another few for interest who have had some good runs this year
Class Conti
Acapella Bourgeois
Yala Enki
Canelo
Ami DesboisApril 10, 2021 at 16:36 #1535641Colours to the mast folks; who wins the Grand National?
For me it’s Acapella Bourgeois.
April 10, 2021 at 16:39 #1535644Any of my 5 will do peter.
April 10, 2021 at 16:47 #1535648Class Conti.
April 10, 2021 at 16:48 #1535649Yala Enki 50’s, e/w 5 places. I must be mad backing a non-irish runner.
Main hope – 40 finishers, failing that 40 non-fallers, failing that 40 horses going home alive and well.

April 10, 2021 at 17:00 #1535655Acapella Bourgeois for me too, with Shattered Love for a bit of an option.
Good luck guys
April 10, 2021 at 17:03 #1535656I’ve just backed Acapella Bourgeois too. Already had Takingrisks, plus a bit each way on Annibal Fly & Blaklion. All safely home is the most important thing though.
Good luck everyone!
April 10, 2021 at 17:07 #1535658Losing confidence in my going prediction.
Have now added Bristol De Mai to my list.Value Is EverythingApril 10, 2021 at 17:27 #1535662“I think I’m revisiting this tonight – putting a big fat line through every British trained horse will be my first move. If Cheltenham wasn’t quite enough, today has smashed the nail home. Cloth Cap being a stone well-in might be treated harshly compared to some of these Irish raiders.”
Hmm.

April 10, 2021 at 17:29 #1535667The UK handicappers have to be massively over rating the horses
April 10, 2021 at 17:30 #1535668British horses should be banned from running in Class 2 races or higher…
