The price on Minella Times has shortened already. Best price 16s now on BetVictor.

First post by the way :yahoo:

Read that Rachael Blackmoore could take the ride on Minella Times maybe that’s the reason why a gamble is going on. Done some research and it’s not a forlorn hope.

Minella Times taken out of the Irish National. Looks like Aintree is the plan. :good:

Big player. I pretty much ignored him, assuming Fairyhouse was the plan. Will be a big story horse on the day. Could even start single figures at the off?

Relieved Acapella Bourgeois was taken out of the Irish National. Was worried my shortlist was going to take another hit!

Peter, so did I, and everyone else. It really does go against the grain for me, coming on so soon after the price has gone, but I took a chance with Minella Times myself. I’ll balance that out somewhat, and hold my hands up that I merely followed all the blue on Oddschecker like everybody else in the country.

50-1 nrnb, and a free bet too.

It’s unlikely that one of my original bets in Farclas will be running, but I’m hopeful that my other pair might still make it, but they do have the option of Ayr & Fairyhouse.

Have had a small stab at Plan Of Attack on 370-380/1 on Betfair. I’m not sure if this is the plan but he is another de Bromhead horse who was scratched from the Irish National, and was going really well when coming down three out in the Kim Muir. The blinkers seemed to be working the trick that day and if he is none the worse for the fall (it was more of a stumble on landing really than a fall), he could have a chance. He needs a few to come out though to get in.

Well done on getting the 50-1 Silver Spoon. I jumped on the Oddschecker bandwagon too, but I only got 18-1.

My first bet which was Farclas, looks like being saved by nrnb, so I’m looking for one more to go with Minella Times. I’ve went with Class Conti at 40-1 nrnb. I think that he is a great price. He isn’t going to Fairyhouse, and he has been running well this winter. For a Willie Mullins runner I think that 40-1 is very appealing.

For what it’s worth think Burrow’s Saint has an outstanding chance, irish national winner at SIX! and now at the right age of eight (may be a blessing the for him the race didn’t take place last year). Also each way, Discorama at 40-1. Looks to be laid out for either this or irish national, as he’s been placed at the last three festivals but missed it this year.

I decided to commit to Bristol De Mai. 25/1 five places. He has been shortening over the last couple weeks and my confidence in his price sticking is slowly waining. I’ll top up the morning of with the extra places.

The Hollow Ginge EW @ 100/1 BOG NRNB 5 places

Looked like there was no chance of him getting in but seems to be an outside chance now.Nice EW price considering his run against the FAV at Newbury.

I’d only bet Farclas so far, but that was nrnb. I will have three on the day, but the only bet I’ve added is Burrows Saint at 14-1.

Whilst not exactly gently nursed around this season (jockey having got a whip ban for the Thyestes), Class Conti has improved his form slightly. He’s not very big and I’m interested to see what better ground and a light weight can do.

    Class Conti 40s ew 5pl

A race almost impossible to feel you have ‘covered’ in an antepost sense but Mike has done an incredible job there!

    I have:
    Le Breuil X
    Presenting Percy X
    Kimberlite Candy 33s
    The Storyteller 50s
    Discorama 22s

I’ll add a few more extra places come the day. Like any other handicap ran in the UK currently, I’d see no reason to abandon the theory that the Irish are just better handicapped, so I’ll stick to that broadly.
