It doesn’t look the strongest renewal I’ve ever seen……

Cloudy Dream looks a worthy favourite, and would fit the profile of what I look for here, but the same also applies to the tad underrated Frodon, who really appeals at 7’s. He’d be main fancy for me at that price. Undecided to bet now though.
One I really like is Guitar Pete. He surely goes here, and looks too big at 40’s. Fortunate winner of The Caspian Caviar last year, but still a fair run. He’s fresh from a recent spin on the flat, and at that price, I’ll bet him ahead of Frodon for now.
Flying Angel and Doitforthevillage also appeal at prices.
Guitar Pete 40’s Each Way
October 24, 2018 at 14:49 #1378530Was going to wait till he was declared, but the 9’s for Frodon looks really good to me, and had a few quid at that price.
Not quite the same amount going on Pete, but happy to top up at 50’s.
Frodon 9’s Win
Guitar Pete 50’s EWOctober 24, 2018 at 18:33 #1378541Guitar Pete 50/1 is a totally bonkers price. I will stick my neck out and say he’ll be less than 20’s on the day if he is declared.
October 24, 2018 at 20:29 #1378552Flying Angel looks interesting for me. Rated 157 last year, now 12lbs lower and the yard tend to do well at the start of the season. If he’s back to his best, surely he goes extremely close here. 25/1 with PaddyPower and BetVictor
October 24, 2018 at 21:03 #1378555I’d probably weigh in behind TKF with Flying Angel.
Recent runs haven’t been great, but i am wondering whether having 2 wind ops, means he’d probably enjoy slightly better ground than he’s had in his last 3 runs.
Aintree form reads well; 3 thirds, a second and a win. Even the most recent third could be excused, 3m1 on heavy. He’s beaten Cloudy Dream at the course as well off levels, and now he gets 11pds.
His fourth at Ascot last November also wouldn’t be the worst form as Frodon was giving him a pound then, but now 12pds!
As TKF has said NTD does well early doors, he’s currently 5-18 with his chasers in October. Past Octobers also read pretty well to back this up.
Obviously need to forgive recent form, but i think there’s an excuse or two for that, and 25/1 is big big.

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!October 24, 2018 at 21:47 #1378557Another vote for Flying Angel for the reasons you mention; being an athletic, lighter framed horse he might bounce off good ground rather than toiling as he did at the end of last season on heavy. Also, I think they were rushing to get him ready for Aintree that time and the Topham may have been a sighter for the fences (he had a National entry too) rather than a concerted effort to win.
That piece of form round the course beating Cloudy Dream and Top Notch off levels looks veeeery tempting.
I lost money trying to follow him last year but ye two have persuaded me to give him another go!October 24, 2018 at 21:57 #1378560SPs of 10/1, 6/1, 4/1, 7/1 and 9/2 a lot lower than the 25s on offer here though. Worth a go!

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!October 24, 2018 at 22:02 #1378562I’ve joined you lads here with Flying Angel at that 25-1 each way, what a price.
I really liked Theo two runs back, and I’ve also bet him 16-1 ew
October 25, 2018 at 11:38 #1378606I looked at this race last night + my confident selection was Flying Angel at 25-1. I could only get 20-1 this morning, it must be the weight of money from you guys.
October 25, 2018 at 13:23 #1378616Flying Angel and Guitar Pete for me. Both look thrown in and are way overpriced.
October 25, 2018 at 18:31 #1378640According to Nicky Richards twitter thingy it looks like Guitar Pete is not running
October 25, 2018 at 21:04 #1378651all our millions have halved Flying Angel’s price!

Hindsight is 20/20 so make the most of it!October 25, 2018 at 23:11 #1378660I’ve had a punt on Value At Risk at 9s. He ran a good race this time last year,
beaten 1 1/2L over C/D behind Unowhatimeanharry and the same distance ahead of Top Notch. He may
have bounced 2 weeks later on heavy at Haydock, maybe the ground wasn’t to his liking, heavy at
Haydock is as heavy as heavy comes. Made up for it when he won well next time out at Donny carrying
top weight. Also won well last time out in a listed race at Ayr back in February and up 8lbs for that.
Still reasonably rated and whilst fitness has to be taken on trust, Dan Skelton is bang in form with
8 winners in the past 2 weeks. I’m hopeful
October 26, 2018 at 06:33 #1378663At the weights it has to be Modus for me. (Should he run here of course)
Goes well fresh, will love the ground and gets the best part of a stone off the principles.
Unfortunately Geraghty will probably ride though, he could get Arkle beat in a seller at Plumpton the way he is going at the moment.
11/2 with Laddies seems a fair if unspectacular price.
October 27, 2018 at 23:39 #1378900some price now…..fingers crossed
