4/5 BD to win the champion hurdle is good value to me. He now doesn’t need to come off the bridle to win.
December 29, 2017 at 14:50 #1334730Before anyone mentions it I know it’s not 4/5 anymore. I looked straight after Faugheen race and was 1.86 on exchanges but now 1.75 and going lower by looks of it
December 29, 2017 at 14:53 #1334731Would love to see Yorkhill having a good at the Champion Hurdle.
If he blazed a trail, I could see him giving BD something to think about.
December 29, 2017 at 14:55 #1334732Who’s Best? Probably Faugheen at the moment. However, BVD has scope for further improvement (Faugheen won’t at his age). However, (may sound strange but) in this year’s Champion Hurdle ante-post betting it doesn’t really matter who’s the “best”. When two horses look way above the rest what matters is soundness. BVD looks sound and must be much more likely to make it to Cheltenham. So why not back BVD now and (if wanting to) have a saver on Faugheen only once NRNB comes in? If Faugheen doesn’t make it BVD will be a whole lot shorter. It’s not that anyone is wishing ill for the Irish horse; it’s just you’ve got to look at probabilities of every possible eventuality when assessing ante-post value.
Around 7/2 at the time. Hate to tell you I told you so……
…Although BVD has to get there yet.
Value Is EverythingDecember 29, 2017 at 14:59 #1334735Yep think a number of us tried to convince them Ginge!
December 29, 2017 at 15:07 #1334739Yes, to me it was the obvious bet at that time, but had already taken 5/1 myself, Jasolong.
You might like to delete the last word of your post as I’ve done, mate; some might take offence with what’s happened today.
Value Is EverythingDecember 29, 2017 at 17:39 #1334777As I’ve said throughout this thread, Buveur D’Air is a great horse. He really is.
But if Faugheen turns up, he wins.
It’s as simple as that for me.
It was never that simple.
December 29, 2017 at 17:40 #1334779I dont think anyone here was suggesting it would be a walkover? I merely took the chance to back at 10s and lay off if he came back and won, which he did, so saying you tried to convince people is just stupid, unless you green out, you havent won anything yet LOL your slip is as worthless as it is on anyone else
I was in discussion with jas because faugheens abillity was being pushed off as if BVD would walk all over him
BVD was always the bet antepost after faugheen won FTO, i even said it myself…
Ps, willie mullins thinks faugheen is “incubating a cold” hence why id imagine hes still 5/1ish
December 29, 2017 at 17:42 #1334781It was never that simple.
Oh gosh, another aftertimer LOL, MOM is clearly stating if he turns up fit, he would beat him, which is not unlikely
Are you now saying you believe faugheen ran 100% today? Idiot LOL
December 29, 2017 at 17:45 #1334784Yep think a number of us tried to convince them Ginge!
He’s not even won yet. Turn it in before you get smug. Wait til he actually wins before the ‘I told you so’
December 29, 2017 at 17:47 #1334785I’ve reported that post, Ham. I’m not having being called an idiot on here, when I always give reasons for my thinking. After timer ? How, when I’ve explained my thoughts on Faugheen and his fitness earlier in the thread ?
It was never that simple. I think that’s a fair comment, particularly after everything else I’ve written on the race in this and other threads.
I only wish I could put you on ignore.
December 29, 2017 at 17:47 #1334786He would beat him if fully fit. I did say IF.
This is a crazy thread. The aftertiming and smugness of some here about a horse THAT HASN’T EVEN WON YET is absolutely baffling.
If Buveur D’Air misses the meeting through injury (a possibility with all racehorses), they will look stupid for celebrating a win and giving it the big one on a horse that’s not even won yet.
There’s a long way to go.
December 29, 2017 at 17:49 #1334788I’ve reported that post, Ham.
To be fair, your reply to me was awfully smug. Easy to say that after the event isn’t it.
I specifically made a point of saying ‘If Faugheen likes up’. It’s a huge point to my argument which you completely ignored.
December 29, 2017 at 17:52 #1334791How is it aftertiming when, well before today’s race, Gingertipster spoke about the doubts surrounding Faugheen’s fitness and Buveur D’Air’s ( as yet ) clean bill of health ?
Far too much mud slinging from you and Ham.
December 29, 2017 at 17:56 #1334793Mark, i myself spoke about fitness doubts before anyone, CONNECTIONS of the horse ie the people who work with the horse said he was fine and he ran to 172, he CLEARLY was not fine today lol
Your aftertiming because ginge, myself and everyone else who said he might not make it, were guessing based on previous injuries, none of us work with the horse its an assumption, if i thought he was 100% making it fit and healthy i would not have greened out (as much)
Mud slinging? Yet your the one on here quoting posts from when the horse had jjst ran to 172 as if MOM was stupid to have that opinion? Idiot. Lol
December 29, 2017 at 17:58 #1334796It wasn’t a smug reply because it was never that simple. It’s a statement of fact that we should all know by now after years of betting on this sport.
Accusing people of something without any evidence is just playground behaviour. I don’t do smug. I very rarely quote my posts after a prediction is proved correct and didn’t gloat after Might Bite won the King George or Beware The Bear won at Newcastle.
December 29, 2017 at 17:59 #1334800Yet you went out your way to quote his.
