Love this time of year, entries for this and The BetVictor out tomorrow, and Cheltenham & Aintree this weekend………..happy days.
October 25, 2017 at 16:19 #1323412Does anyone know or think if Coney Island might turn up here?
October 25, 2017 at 16:51 #1323415I’d say it was very unlikely, Jamie. Lots of good races for him in Ireland and the trainer hasn’t run one at Newbury in years.
October 25, 2017 at 17:07 #1323423Cheers
October 25, 2017 at 17:29 #1323428Jamie, it’s one of the few big races I never associate with JP for some reason, but Coney Island is definitely one to take note of this season wherever he ends up.
October 29, 2017 at 14:47 #1324043If there is one horse for one race all season long it’s American for this. Been falling over myself to keep topping up on him since the market opened. Lovely early Christmas present
October 29, 2017 at 20:32 #1324087Off 149 I’m afraid Acapella Bourgeois is going to be the biggest elephant the room here. Singlefarmpayment ran well enough yesterday and I’ve already backed him for this, but if Mullins sends this AB over, he’ll have sunk many an antepost bet yet again.
October 29, 2017 at 23:04 #1324097Yeah Joe, looks a big danger, and no doubt WPM will be getting all sorts of improvement out of him this year. Certainly seems a definite to head here as well.
November 1, 2017 at 13:23 #1324425Entries are out, and 60 are in there……

November 1, 2017 at 13:39 #1324426Just loads of Irish runners in there catching the eye, but one of the few races, where I don’t automatically look for those making the trip across.
This year might be different, with Acapella Bourgeois & Total Recall looking big players for WPM, who does have others to call on.
Not a race where Giggs are mob handed, but Tiger Roll make a big impact off of his current mark, while General Principle jumps out straight away.
Of the home brigade, Vyta Du Roc looks like he could take a hand, and a real dark horse could be Paul Nicholls Ptit Zig, what is he doing in there???
Rock The Kasbah is a surprise absentee, and he was high on my list, I presume he’s had a setback??
I’ll definitely be having another play, and I can guarantee I’ll be betting Double Ross each way, though may wait till the day for the firms to criminally underrate him yet again.
I’ll stick with….
American 16’s Win
Sizing Codelco 33’s EWfor now.
November 1, 2017 at 14:10 #1324431Oddly, I always though Ptit Zig wanted a trip. He’d benefit too from his own section to aim at on the takeoff side of each fence with a wee trampoline built into it
November 1, 2017 at 14:15 #1324432Not an antepost race for me but its a fair point regarding AB and i think ill steal some of the 20/1 for him just now as in reality, what would he go off at should he turn up?
Muddling race atm wont touch anything else until closer to the time
November 1, 2017 at 15:15 #1324440The Irish have an appalling record in the race and Mullins will surely utilise the handicap mark of AB towards the trainers chanpionsip in Ireland
November 1, 2017 at 20:38 #1324476With mullins not giving elliot the same headstart as last year im not too sure hed be to concerned about the trainers title, elliot would need to be a million infront by punchestown to have a realistic chance, not to mention it seems like elliots is having much the same start to the season as mullins did last year
But nontheless i have to agree with you, i cant see him sending AB over, but wont do to much damage having a squeak at 20s
November 1, 2017 at 20:55 #1324479I have added Vyta Du Roc at 33-1 each way to go with American.
November 2, 2017 at 00:36 #1324515lol Joe, re: Ptit Zig, they’ve surely worked on that jumping of his.
November 3, 2017 at 21:45 #1324814Very much in the American camp. Easily one of the more exciting horses of the season for me. I’ll be backing him in pretty much everything as i can easily see him developing into either a Gold Cup or Grand National horse, the latter seeming tailor made for him. Missed all the bigger prices, but I’ll be lumping on with a fair degree of confidence should be line up in this.
