We’ve removed the horse from the market, Steve. Sounds like it won’t be running in this race.

Cheers Lost Soldier, I had already read the bad news though. Was thinking of a top up bet but the odds suggested something was amiss so I had a search for news on the matter. I then found out that the horse will next run in the Tingle Creek so that’s the dream over for the Bet Victor. Still, at least he paid for that bet today so no real damage, just mucked up today’s profit margin overall.

Thanks very much though, appreciate the heads up. Help is always welcome :good:

Politologue is 5/1 from 12/1 in the Tingle Creek with Paddy Power but I can’t back him for that race. It gives the horse ample time to recover from today (Race on 9th December) but with Altior 4/7 for that race, I reckon Paul Nicholl’s is living on Fantasy Island if he thinks Politologue can beat the Henderson star. It just seems a waste running for second but hey ho, what do I know.

This is part of the reason I much prefer the Flat for ante-post. A lot of these jumpers seem to eschew the obvious target.

Hard lines fellow Politologue backers. Paul Nicholls must surely be listening to cassette tapes saying:-

“Your mission Paul, if you choose to accept it, is to beat the best chaser in training. This ante-post slip will self-destruct in five seconds”

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Certainly does seem like a big ask for Politologue in the old Tingler.

You can still bet his formline in this race though. Is Waiting Patiently an intended runner?

I’ve backed Le Prezien already but I’m adding Belami Des Pictons. The best horse Venetia’s has in some time and still progressing.

No, he won’t run. Connections said this:

“He might get an entry in the Tingle Creek, there’s a race in Ireland and there is the Caspian Caviar December Gold Cup at Cheltenham. There’s no rush and we’d rather wait.”

Quite By Chance seems to run better at the start of the season, and he ran a really creditable fourth in the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup off a 1lb higher mark than what he would be asked to carry in this. He had to give two stone to Exitas last time out, but he has ran well and was a mile clear of third. That was only two weeks ago, but he has won off a similar break before. I don’t think his mark is unworkable, the course and distance won’t be a problem and he’s up to winning a race like this.

Like a few here, I really liked the chances of Cloudy Dream here but I can understand why connections want to divert and avoid lugging top weight round Cheltenham on bad ground when surely they have one eye on the festival already.

I hadn’t had a bet and will probably leave it now until final decs although Aso at 20/1 looks interesting. Houblon’s win at Sandown yesterday perhaps helped dispel the rumour that Venetia Williams horses are out of form so I’ve taken more of an interest in this one here. I know he’s not exactly well weighted but he was 4th in this last year on seasonal debut before going 2 better in the Caspian Caviar on his next start. This year he’s had that run at Aintree and if he comes on for it should run a good race. 20/1 in a place right now.

Scrap that saver plan, Viconte Du Noyer at 25’s, is a fabulous each way price.

Money certainly talks and there’s been a few wedges gabbing about Gold Present this week. I’m already tucked in with 33s and 25s but I’m happy with the support I’ve seen. Nicky was coy when questioned by a certain ‘whippy1mr’ (who?) on Twitter, although I really think he was made for this race. Looks absolutely chucked in as well.

Gold Present for me too Boz…I read that Tweet from ‘Whippy’ and I notice Nicky always replys to this fellow…His run at the festival had ‘Mackeson’ written all over it but I only got 25/1.This horse will have a good season,he epitomises a Henderson plot horse.Good luck.

We needed 14 horses to drop out last night Boz to get a run..I took the 27’s on the machine yesterday knowing I’d get reimbursed if he missed the cut…I’ve gone through this race for the past 3 weeks now and like Bobby says in his opening post the winner will come from the Close Brothers Chase at Cheltenham…’Foxtail Hill’ has franked the form and good money for the only horse I see as the danger Tully East..Confidence is King and TAPK’s buzzing about Gold Present cut to 12/1 today..He will be the new ‘Fondmort’. B-)

Thought it would be nip and tuck when I saw we needed 14 out but we got there pretty easily in the end :good:

I have backed Vicomte De Noyer at 25/1 too Bobby!! But also am on Le Prezien at 12/1.

I do have a doubt about VDN getting outpaced and then staying on though Bobby.

The other one I am interested in and could not resist at the price is Top Gamble 25/1 who has ran twice over the trip at the track and been third both times which bodes well!!

    :good: :good:

Had to have a third one running for me Raymo, and at that price, he’ll do for me. Liked what I saw last time.

If anyone is wondering where Cloudy Dream is, he has been entered in the wrong race by mistake. There’s a 3m3f BetVictor sponsored race on the same day.

Some firms are refunding Cloudy Dream bets because of the error. Not knowing who you’re on with you might want to check on this :good:

No other way to put it Charles, it was a bit of a howler
I hear that the sponsors, Betvictor, are returning ante post bets,
    hopefully others may follow.

I should have put my tuppence worth in earlier, and belatedly I have
to say it was a cracking write up Bobby, but I’m taking a chance that
the progression with DOUBLE TREASURE hasn’t come to
an end. His last 4 races have been impressive, and the handicapper
has raised him 42 lbs from the first of those, and 31 lbs for the last 3
in the space of a couple of months. I put him up in the ante post betting
thread at 20/1, he’s come down a little but 16s is still pretty reasonable
for a horse that’s improving at some rate of knots. Admittedly he’s taking
on some here that have been there and done that, but I think he’s up to it.
This looks a great race this year :good:

I didn’t back it but there’s no excuse. “ People make mistakes “might be true in itself but it’s simply a platitude in cases like this.

These was one a couple of seasons ago where they forgot to enter the horse at all.
