Yeah Joe, it’s a definite permanent issue he’s got, but can’t find the interview, was going to post it for you.
If you’re wanting to top up with the books on him, best be quick, looks to be getting well bet & starting to go very blue on Oddschecker.
February 3, 2016 at 18:28 #1232100I’ve had a decent bet at 85, Bobby, that’ll do me for now alongside the 25s Many Clouds (taken last year, which aroused considerable mirth among some on here).
February 4, 2016 at 13:17 #1232184Here’s an interview with Evan Williams in the Gloucestershire Echo which states :-
“We have done a lot of work with his jumping. He has been struggling at times because he has two metal plates in one of his back joints, which restricts the movement in his back legs and the amount of propulsion that he can get.”
February 4, 2016 at 14:14 #1232201Thanks, Homer…hope it doesn’t rain at Aintree; he’d be the only horse described as rusty during a race :)
February 4, 2016 at 16:17 #1232206Really decent set of entries this year, with 126 entered in total.
Very disappointed to see The Young Master not entered, but the writing was on the wall after his laboured performance on Saturday, where even allowing for it being over hurdles, he just didn’t look right. He’d drifted quite markedly the last few days as well, so although disappointing, not the biggest shock to me.
I’m absolutely gutted about that one Bobby, unfortunately I did have a decent wager on
him before the race last Saturday, just in case he ran really well.I’ve followed TYM and BUYWISE from the start of the season, expecting great things from
both but it’s just not worked out. I don’t want to throw good money after bad, but I’d be
kicking myself if I didn’t hold firm now, and Buywise really takes to Aintree. He wouldn’t
be the first sketchy jumper to find that the bigger fences focused the mind.I’ve missed the fancy prices, but as there’s still plenty of 50s about, I feel obliged to
have a go.No doubt I’ll pick up another couple on route to the big one.
February 4, 2016 at 19:38 #1232229A cracking list of entries has left me with perhaps the longest of long lists in Grand National history! =P In alphabetical order…

Benvolio
Double Ross
Godsmejudge
Holywell
Houblon Des Obeaux
Long Run
O’faolains Boy
Portrait King

February 5, 2016 at 00:12 #1232281Been studying the entrys and I think it’s should be Many Clouds. However one whom I think is dangerous is Triolo D’ Arlene his last run showed he was in fine form. I did fancy him last year until he got withdrawn
The best things in life are free.
But you can give them to the birds and bees.February 5, 2016 at 09:53 #1232307I’d like the look of Sam Winner but I assume he’d get too much weight…
February 5, 2016 at 13:46 #1232322Disappointed Seventh Sky is not entered, will be sticking with Soll other than that no clue at the moment
February 7, 2016 at 19:42 #1232737Many Clouds at 20/1 is one of my favourite bets of the century. I have backed Triolo Dalene and The Last Samurai EW too
February 9, 2016 at 19:03 #1232913Was impressed by CARLINGFORD LOUGH‘s Irish Gold Cup performance, making ground on the final turn and in my opinion looked to be going better than Valseur Lido. Mark Walsh reported that he nearly pulled up CL, I bet he glad he didn’t
However his weight would likely be increased, and should we really take notice from one piece of form whether it be a positive or negative.
At the moment I’ve got in my Ante Post portfolio
Many Clouds
Gallant Oscar
Triolo D’Arlene
O’Faolains Boy
Carlingford Lough
and Mountainous in case it’s soft or softer on dayThe best things in life are free.
But you can give them to the birds and bees.February 9, 2016 at 20:48 #1232923I can still get ridiculous prices about the horse who’ll go off favourite for the National so I’m not putting his/her name up on a public forum yet :D
February 9, 2016 at 20:57 #1232926Also didn’t mention my disappointment at Duke of Luccas absence from the lineup. I’m still convinced he was robbed of a very real chance of going close last year had such ridiculous entries as Ely Brown or the withdrawn Carlito Brigante not used up a valuable place in the final 40.
February 10, 2016 at 22:42 #1233053Really decent set of entries this year, with 126 entered in total.
Very disappointed to see The Young Master not entered, but the writing was on the wall after his laboured performance on Saturday, where even allowing for it being over hurdles, he just didn’t look right. He’d drifted quite markedly the last few days as well, so although disappointing, not the biggest shock to me.
The most pleasant surprise for me though, was Our Father getting an entry. Bet him for it last summer, but had written it off, as I assumed he was no longer in training. He’ll have to overcome being off for over a year, but now with Gordon Elliot, it gives me a wee bit of encouragement. Hopefully hear some posititve news regarding him in the coming weeks. If good to go, I’d really fancy him, and he’d be up there with Cause of Causes for me. Still not got a bean on Cause of Causes yet.
Never a fan of siding with horses who’ve ran it before, a big negative for me, but hopefully a change of approach will bring me a winner.
Of those who didn’t get an entry for me, despite being a big fancy, hadn’t actually put that much on The Young Master, so didn’t really hurt financially, just a bit gutted as thought he’d be a cert for it. Had a few others who didn’t get an entry, and the ones that did hurt were Minella Foru & Rossvoss, though knew my fate with Rossvoss after The Paddy Power.
Got a whole load bet, easily 20+ (as usual, trying to get green book) but I’ll put them up on my DLAP thread, and put up on here, what I think are the more interesting ones, later on.
You’ve not backed it yet ?!!
February 11, 2016 at 00:53 #1233059Yeah Mark, didn’t bet Cause of Causes until yesterday, took 36’s to 38’s, and 40’s each way. Waited and waited for someone to match me at 100’s, but never happened, and ended up missing the bigger prices.
He’s still main fancy, along with
Our Father
Midnight Prayer
Amigo (won’t get in now)I’ve included him in my list now, which I’ve lazily copied and pasted from elsewhere.
Time to list my Grand National bets, with todays very decent 126 strong entry.

As usual, got stacks bet, but as per previous years just trying to get a Green Book, while having a few running for me at a price. A lot more horses bet this year, but a lot less actual cash bet, which should make my project that bit easier hopefully.
Big Lossers
Rossvoss
Minella Foru

Rule The World 110’s to 180’sA few of them have next to no chance of getting in, but hopefully I can trade here and there with a few of them to make a profit. Biggest winners would be the David Pipe pair, Amigo & Standing Ovation, along with Pendra & Midnight Prayer. Looking forward to the usual rollercoaster ride that comes with this.
February 12, 2016 at 19:55 #1233359Best of luck Bobby, hopefully you’ll have a good few turn up on the day.
The only one I’ve done is Holywell, from 80’s to 200’s on the machine. He ran deplorably last time out but I haven’t given up hope.
February 13, 2016 at 00:14 #1233403Thanks Tommy, few of them definitely can’t get in, but I’m feeling hopeful I can pull it off.
It really is a great price you’ve got for Holywell, and he’s sure to run I’d say. No surprise to see a different horse in a few weeks time, best of luck with him. I took some of the 130’s for Cheltenham as well.
