I was looking at Shifting Power yesterday [early foal;has won at Newmarket] is he likely to run in the Guineas as well?
April 15, 2014 at 20:09 #475762Steve, sorry to hear about your sister. We all do what we can on here to try and win a few quid, but the truest saying I’ve ever heard…Health is Wealth.
I’ll have a tenner on Dorothy B and if she wins, cash to any charity working on the illness Dorothy suffered from.

Currently around 25/1 Moe so might be worth an each way. My moneys on and will watch with interest tomorrow and hoping for an outstanding performance, he could be anything at the moment unchallenged in both his wins and now put to the test.
Looking at the two days I think tomorrow looks an easier Card than Craven Day with all those lightly raced three year olds. Roger Varian’s got a few nice runners and I’m hoping Somewhat will win the Feilden Stakes, really looking forward to seeing the Ger Lyons horse Obliterator too, what a day.
@SteveCaution
Really sorry to hear your sisters story Steve and although my heart is with Sandiva tomorrow I will give Dorothy B a big cheer as she goes to post. It’s times like this when I wish Hammy were still around taking shots of all our favourite horses. I only have a little Nikon Coolpix but I’ll take it with me and see what I can do to get a few pictures tomorrow.

You’re a good soul Joe. I am touched by your kind thoughts.
Dorothy suffered many problems with trying for children and suffered several miscarriages before having a healthy son. Further problems continued as she tried for another child, before she gave birth to the healthy daughter that she so wished for. The problems meant many further operations as she had major problems with scar tissue adhering to the walls of her stomach and internal organs. The operations actually made the problem worse and she suffered very little mobility and poor health for the last 20 years of her life. It was actually a mystery virus that caused her death, rather than the underlying problems. Doctors were never able to identify it. My sister’s favourite charity was Altzheimers, as my Father suffered from that horrible disease and it was a constant sorrow to my sister that her Dad no longer knew who she was. He passed away 8 months after Dorothy.
I can’t really express how much I appreciate your gesture Joe. Thank you.
This is Dorothy when she started High School, during the next couple of years it was boys, rather than girls who started knocking on our door asking if she was at home. It was a constant source of amusement to her that one of her former male classmates approached her after she got married and asked if he could have one of her old bras as a keepsake! The mind boggles.

JacThank you Jac, you’re very kind.
Hope you get a few winners and a new camera out of it.
I am hoping Munjaz can show something today, he really needs to put up something to warrant his Derby entry.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Have a good couple of days, the weather looks great.Had a great day today Nathan backed 4 winners
Provident Spirit
Shifting Power (brilliant ride by Ryan Moore)
Sandiva (Nell Gwyn)
MunjazKicking myself for not backing True Story in the Feilden, great big son of Manduro was the pick of the paddock today and he carried it through to the racecourse beating my choice Obliterator hands down.
Disappointing runs from Wedding Ring and Somewhat and Steve’s Dorothy B..I did cheer her to post Steve and she looked lovely in the paddock.
I will definitely be putting something by for a new camera Nathan as I did take mine today and then found out the battery was flat
so charging it up tonight to get some nice shots of Toormore tomorrow…
…Nathan I might need a few tips on getting my pics onto TRF as the last one I tried of Sky Lantern came out too large.
@Steve..what a lovely picture of your sister she was a very pretty girl.
I hope you had a few pennies on your fancy Munjaz today he ran a fantastic race and keep an eye out for the 3rd horse Connecticut 20/1 trained by Cumani who ran 3rd, by New Approach he ran a really good first time out race and will be winning sometime soon.Hoping not to give back all my winnings to the bookies tomorrow.

See if you can get a shot of Shafrah in the Tattersall’s race. He’s up in trip and class but is a horse I like after seeing him in the paddock and action at Leicester on debut.Gaelic Warrior Gold Cup Winner 2026
April 16, 2014 at 23:11 #475879I’ll certainly do that for you Nathan.
My fancy is Seagull Star that did me a nice favour at 22/1 last year so will follow him up tomorrow but may have an EW on Shafrah now too. Will cheer him home for you. Thanks for the PM regarding uploading pics, I will give it a go when I get back tomorrow or Friday as we are out for a meal after racing so not sure what time I’ll be back.
Looking forward to seeing Toormore as well and Be Ready who looks so much like Dawn Approach that I might have to back him

Nathan at last your picture of Shafrah, finally twigged what I was doing wrong on tinypics..thanks to you.

He looked a picture in the paddock but managed to burst out of the stalls before the race and run the whole length of the course with his saddle hanging under his belly. Luckily it fell off and he was none the worse, as he past the Winning Post they tried to catch him but he turned tail and ran back up the course until being stopped by 4 men spreadeagled across (brave men
). He then sauntered across to the rail, leaned his head over and eyeballed everyone in the stands.
What a character.http://i57.tinypic.com/2llydxl.jpg
Here he is looking like butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth.
hope you like it..Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 18, 2014 at 18:16 #476079That is a great photo Jac, you are a natural.
I was working Thursday and got home late so watched the replay on bet365 streaming so didn’t know why Shafrah was a non runner, glad he is well. The same bloke in the photo was leading him around at Leicester on his debut and they were the same height so it shows just how much Shafrah has grown over the winter I think his rating is lenient and he could progress this season. He has strengthened that much that he bursts through stalls it seems now.

April 18, 2014 at 21:41 #476099He certainly is a lovely looking horse Nathan..here he is showing how to win the Tatts Millions without jockey or a saddle.

Then just before dashing back up the course posing for photos.

He certainly made sure everyone noticed him on Craven Day, I’ll be looking out for him this season.

Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...April 21, 2014 at 12:15 #476413Does it concern Rizeena fans at a skinny looking 4/1 that Clive Brittain hasn’t had a winner this season? They have only had 10 runners in the last month but mainly they have been very modest efforts. With her odds so short I would be looking for ALL te factors to be looking positive.

Jac

Trip, I’ve just looked back on his maiden run and have only just realised the horse back in 5th was Toast of New York, the very same horse who won the UAE Derby on Dubai World Cup night.

Cant be bad form.

April 21, 2014 at 22:22 #476493Didn’t notice that form with Toast of New York Nathan it certainly makes him an interesting prospect NTO as long as he behaves himself.
He got a good blow into himself running the full length of the 1m2f course then back again to the 2 furlong mark and back again to the winning post where he was caught.
He’d run a good 1m6f before he stopped and he looked pretty good afterwards. Considering he was trying 1m2f for the first time he showed everyone that was not beyond his capabilities.
Will follow his progress with interest this season he’s a lovely little horse.

I agree that Rizeena is far too short for what she’s done Steve. Although I wouldn’t be at all concerned with Clive Brittain’s form at the moment. No winners but he’s known for over-trying horses; three of those 10 were placed @ 20/1, 25/1 and 40/1. Running better than market expectation/form.
Because of tilting at windmills – Clive’s horses that do have a bit of a chance often go off at value prices, which surprises me Rizeena is so short
. I’d need double the current price to back the filly!Value Is Everything - AuthorPosts
