Anyone know anything about the well being or targets for

    Vallado

? Looked a filly of some promise last season but is over 200/1 on Betfair for this so I presume she’s not going.

The last I heard was this from the trainer at the end of last September:-

Trainer Eddie Lynam has decided to decided to draw stumps on the filly’s juvenile season and concentrate on her Classic campaign.

The daughter of Clodovil had three races in the space of a month in the summer. After finishing second on her debut at Leopardstown in late July, she opened her account over the same six furlongs in mid-August when beating the highly-regarded My Titania.

Vallado completed a busy but lucrative four-week spell when landing a valuable sales race at the Curragh in good style from Atlantic Affair.

"She’s been put away for next season," said Lynam.

"She’s a good filly and we’re looking forward to next season with her.

"She’s got an entry for the Guineas and I’d be confident she’d get a mile."

I have seen her listed as a possible for the Irish 1000 Guineas and it may well be that is her more likely target

The filly she beat (My Titania) goes straight to Newmarket, which should please Bozlike at least.

    Thanks for that Steve.

    My Oaks fancy

    Taghrooda

has been entered for the 1000 Guineas as well now. It previously showed she was only in the Oaks. Although I expect her to come into her own over further than a mile, it is interesting that they have seen fit to put her in at Newmarket. A good run will see her odds cut for Epsom and I’ll take a punt that she will make the frame at the attractive looking 40/1 on offer.

    Taghrooda, 10pts e/w 40/1

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

I see Miss France is out to a whopping 5/1 with Coral after todays run. I wonder what price they would have made her had she won?

It’s ridiculous Nathan, particularly when you consider Vorda, who finished ahead of her today, is 20/1

As I said earlier, it looks ripe for something lightly raced to improve past the lot of those who made headlines last season and win from way down the ante-post list. I just hope it’s one of my two huge priced dark shots!

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

    Prix Imprudence views

    Game winner in

    Xcellence

, blocked in until a split came about a furlong out, then ran on well to take the lead though didnt go away until just before the line to win by a neck, she is due to contest the French 1000Gns. The runner up,

    Vorda

who showed good 2YO form, apart from unsuccessful trip to Breeders Cup, was the horse to take out of this race, in my opinion, she showed good pace, and ran on well in the final furlong. She is due to run in the English 1000 Gns, 20/1 is available in a couple of places which is a good price, there is a slight doubt about her stamina over a mile.

    Miss France

was very disappointing, the Fabre stable doesnt seem to be in great form just yet, but on this showing I cant support for the 1000 Gns.

Not a lot of interest in this race on the forum this year. Perhaps it’s too open for many to form an opinion yet.

There is some discrepancy with the odds for Tapestry at the moment with Ladbrokes as tight as 7/2, while Stan James are a comparatively whopping 8/1.

Interestingly, Ladbrokes are not quoting Miss France at the moment, so perhaps they know something that those 5/1 Favourite merchants at Coral haven’t manage to pull out of the ether yet.

Ihtimal is as low as 6/1 now but I think that’s an awful price. For sure she will be fit, having had two races in Meydan during February, winning both times but those races were Listed and then Gp3 company where she was 5/4fav and then 4/11 fav, so it was hardly world beating stuff. The races were on Tapeta and the second race was over 10f, making it a very different test to that she will face at Newmarket. She’s had eight races now and I think some will progress past her, if they are not, arguably, already there. I think 6/1 is appalling.

I wouldn’t grudge old Clive a win with Rizeena, or the late, great, Sir Henry a fairytale with the forgotten Joyeuse, who is friendless and out with the double carpet girls now in the betting.

Maybe the next 10 days or so will see a performance that propels something clear at the top of the market.

I hope My Titania can reward Bozlike’s faith and land him some money. The man was deranged enough mentally to nominate me as the poster of the year and he clearly needs a win to put his mind straight! Cheers Tom and good luck.

Amazing Maria is a horse I like but would rather she take in a trial race to see how she has wintered rather then going straight there, the trainer does well with the fairer sex but usually at longer distances. She by Mastercraftsmen but already looks like she needs further to my untrained eye although she hasn’t run past 7f yet.

You’ll have your year Steve, I’m almost certain of that, just as I am of this year being

    My Titania’s

Since I saw her sluice up at Newmarket I’ve been a fan of

    Vorda

, she won much easier than the three quarter length suggested and she’s my choice to win this years 1000 Guineas.
I do like Miss France but if the Xcellence form holds good then she won’t beat Vorda.

Any filly that can come within 1 length of No Nay Never, as Vorda did in the Prix Morny, is good enough for me and Rizeena was 3rd and she goes straight to the race. I’m discounting the Santa Anita form hoping she’ll do her best work in Europe this year.

    Lucky Kristale

    is my

    each way

selection, if she has trained on this season she’ll get closer to Vorda than last time.

    Vorda

    currently 20/1

    Lucky Kristale

    14/1 (EW)

    Pricewise tomorrow and

    Rizeena

    ,

    My Titania

    and

    Lucky Kristale

all blue across the board. Anyone any the wiser who’s got the nod? I’d presume

    Rizeena

by the leap to favouritism but I’m too impatient to wait until morning to find out for sure

I know he’s tipped the Spanish horse for the 2000G. That is the one I would have given myself, purely on the variety in the prices, with 25/1 available in places and as low as 14/1 in others.

I would guess Lucky Kristale has the nod judging by 10/1 or less in places now. She would have been my selection last year if I thought she would get the trip but it nagged me enough not to have a bet and my gut feeling is she won’t get home, particularly if there is cut in the ground.

I’ll stick with my two rank outsiders for some fun and avoid anything single figures in an open looking renewal. I can’t have that Spanish horse NooNoo Canary (or whatever) for the 2000G and I’ll leave him to Pricewise et al.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

I may be a bit sentimental because I was a massive fan of her sire, but I very much hope My Titania does well in this race.

Can you Flat shrewdies advise on whether I should trade out on my 16s Ihtimal? :D

The odds are up for the Nell Gywn on Wednesday at Newmarket. The going is currently good and, predictably, Richard Fahey’s Sandiva leads the betting at a best priced 11/4.

At twice those odds is the John Gosden trained Dorothy B, who is my sentimental hope for the 1000 Guineas. She’s decent but I doubt she’s good enough on last year’s evidence.

My sister was called Dorothy Barbara but was always known as Dorothy B, sadly she was struck down with a virus that attacked her nervous system causing major organ damage and she died before I could get to the hospital. She was 48 years old.

I won’t put any money on but I’ll watch with interest.

Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Damn; I’ve just spent an hour or so looking at the 2,000gns; has Pricewise really tipped the Spanish horse because that’s the one I was going to have an ew on [early foal with several mentions of ‘quickened’ in it’s races]? Haven’t looked at the 1000gns yet.

Just finished my homework on the Nell Gwyn and whittled it down to 3 horses.

    SANDIVA

looks the class act having won a GP.3 over 7furlongs at Deauville very readily, I think she will take all the beating.
    This could be her race.

For each way bets and a forecast combi I’m going for the Charlie Appleby duo:
    FOLK MELODY
ridden by Newmarket specialist Mikael Barzalona – won her maiden over Course and Distance.
    MAJEYDA –
Won a Class 1 Listed race forging clear over 8 Furlongs (soft) Newmarket.

    Nell Gwyn:

    1st .. SANDIVA

    Places
    Folk Melody and Majeyda

    Free Handicap – 3.30

    SHIFTING POWER

    Nap of the Day

Can’t wait to be there on Wednesday and Thursday at the official start of the flat season
