Okay, as the jockey said she had a breathing operation, I assume Tempo Sound in the 3.50 Mares Novice Hurdle at Catterick has had a breathing operation sometime in the past 10 months. I have had a bet at 100 in the place market.

No, not VDW.
It was quite funny today. Although I worked 8 hours overtime, it felt like having a day off as I worked 12 hours on each of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Haven’t been following the horses or doing any betting this month, as I spent £499 on a bicycle, and £35 on a lock.
I was mighty pleased Webbow only came second today, as I would have been mighty pissed off if he had won without me. Still haven’t checked whether Haajes won at Warwick during the week (if he was running).
Anyway, I’ve been following the Tour de France on ITV4, and would have posted on the General Sports things, but for some reason there ain’t a thread. Didn’t actually see Friday’s programme, as I accidentally saw the result and it spoilt it for me.
Anyway, Wiggins says he is in the best form he has ever been for Le Tour, nay, his life? He’s lost a few pounds. I hope the illegal drugs he is taking is better than the illegal drugs the other riders are taking. I am thinking he could do an Indurain by staying with the other riders through the mountains, and then winning the race via the Individual Time Trials. I know he’s been at 1000, but I’ve just bet him at 160, but only to a small stake.

July 19, 2009 at 20:53 #240137Ha ha, Mr Forecast. No worries – I was on Mon Mome £21 @ 71 average, so no 100/1 winner.
Bradley Wiggins is tantalisingly close to winning Le Tour, and giving me my 100/1 winner. All we need is for Alberto Contador to eat a dodgy meal, and get a dose of the runs in the next week.

Luckily, the race is entering Italy on Tuesday
July 20, 2009 at 01:53 #240169Great stuff Gerald; fingers crossed for you! the elusive 100/1 winner..it’s our crock of gold, isn’t it!
July 20, 2009 at 21:14 #240247Not really great stuff, Moe. Although Bradley is lying 3rd at the moment, he will very likely end up 2nd after the Individual Time Trial in Annecy later this week – but will likely have too much time to make up on Contador. Hence the hope that something nasty will happen to Contador.
Looks like a gallant 2nd, but nothing more.
July 20, 2009 at 23:41 #240271Do you want me to stick pins in his effigy? [did that at work years ago; got in terrible trouble over it!]
July 21, 2009 at 02:29 #240294I know this is a cue for me to write something funny, but I can’t think of anything. I had a friend who got sacked from a Jewish nursing home for putting meat and milk in the same fridge.
Can’t be hoping for a broken bone, Moe. These are my precious cyclists we’re talking about. If it was a jockey, okay.
Just keep it at the level of a streptococcal contaminated cornetto.
July 22, 2009 at 19:29 #240474Oh well, Wiggins has lost a bit too much time today.
I’ll see if I can find a 100/1 shot to back sometime over the next fortnight.

Where’s the man with his head in his hands?
Tall and proud.
February 26, 2010 at 20:14 #279325Won in the Dark; Champion Hurdle..Calgary Bay; Gold Cup.

I’ll second that…it’s the most likely one you find at Cheltenham anyway
February 26, 2010 at 20:41 #279337It was you that first mentioned the horse! I backed Sublimity at 80/1 when he won..if I’d had oddschecker then I would have got 100, so I’m still searching for that elusive 100/1 shot!
February 26, 2010 at 20:45 #279339See if any idiot on betfair is offering a crazy price about AN SIORRAC for the 2011 or 2012 Gold Cup
If you can get three figure odds you’ve found a 100-1 or more chance with a REAL chance

If we are talking EW in the Racing post Chase today that’s not such a bad suggestion, he’s a c&d winner and has run well here before and has a turn round of 15lbs for 13 lengths with Nacarat compared with last years race.Where’s the man with his head in his hands?
Tall and proud.
February 27, 2010 at 12:02 #279424Moe has beaten me to
Calgary Bay
! Plenty of 100/1 around and soft ground will suit!
February 27, 2010 at 12:05 #279426Isn’t Orpen Wide just about due another win?
