Very impressive. She looks well capable of putting it up to the colts this season, not to mention the older milers later on in the season in the Sussex Stakes and the QEII

Very impressive performance, she is certainly worth following this term.

And does the fact that the far side group all came across say something about the ground on that side? I’ve not heard any jockey comments so I don’t know. The thing is if it does, it may have implications on yesterday’s form.

Didnt some "far side" runners do ok yesterday?

For some reason, i think they just naturally gravitate towards the stands.

    But shes wonderful isnt she?

Would she have stayed in the Oaks if she hadv’e been entered? I think she would of got the trip but she may be better over 1m 2. I wonder how she would fare against Attraction as a 3yo, Soviet as a 4yo and Russian Rhythm as a 3yo.
She certainly is. In fact, she reminds me a lot of Bosra Sham, albeit with less presence and grace about her. If she turns out to be half as good, we’re in for a cracking seasoon.

I look forward to her taking on alexandrova in the pretty polly stakes on irish derby weekend that will be a great race

Racing UK have said that it’s the fastest time ever for a 1000 guineas. Just think how fast it could’ve gone had Kevin Manning pushed the boat out. Frightening performance, can’t wait for her to clash with Alexandrova

On Text it said it was the fatest Guinees EVER run. Inluding the 1,000 and the 2,000).

    Impressive

I posted elsewhere that Cockney Rebel’s winning time suggests that he is an up-to-standard winner of the 2000 Guineas.

Finsceal Beo’s winning time suggests that she is an outstanding winner of the 1000 Guineas, and it follows that Arch Swing and Simply Perfect are pretty good as well.

You have to be careful with times though. Newmarket wasn’t watered on Saturday night and I think its entirely possible that the ground was a fraction quicker on the Sunday.

I think conditions were slightly quicker on Sunday as well. I’ve taken that into account.

    Timeform view

It was the fillies’ turn on Sunday, with the second classic of the season, the Stan James 1000 Guineas. All eyes were on strong-favourite Finsceal Beo, the champion juvenile filly of last season, and she ran out a comfortable winner, beating Arch Swing by two and a half lengths, reinforcing that she’s the best of her generation (Timeform rating 123), and by some way, too. Ridden to keep things simple, she was never far away with open ground in front of her, and once shaken up two furlongs out she soon took command, running on strongly, proposing she may yet stay a mile and a quarter if it’s required later on. She looks to have the Irish Guineas and Coronation at her mercy, but beyond that she’s also going to play a leading part in top open company, as this was an outstanding effort from a three-year-old filly at this stage of the season, the form backed up by a good timefigure.

Arch Swing can be considered somewhat unlucky to be around at the same time as the winner, as she put up a performance that would have won her a Guineas in most other years. She was just about the paddock pick and clearly benefited from her trial at Leopardstown where she scrambled home and, though smart that she now is, future success depends on how she is campaigned compared with Finsceal Be

Agree with what has been said already, Finsceal Beo looks an outstanding filly. By my calculations, bar Cape Verdi she’s the best 1000 Guineas winner in thelast 25 years, 6 lb higher than what I would expect an ‘average’ winner to rin to. Arch Swing almost certainly would have been an up to scratch winner if you ignore Finsceal Beo.

What a race it would be between Rags to Riches and Finsceal Beo?
Will it happen at the BC?

In a turf race or on dirt ?

    Can’t see it happening myself.
