I notice that the liabilities faced by the bookies if all three horses had won has now been reduced to something like £2 million, not the £10 million that their spokesmen were hysterically talking about on Sunday. Who would have thought it?
February 9, 2021 at 17:03 #1522353Will hill said they had seen it early and covered there arses , I wonder who stood to lose the most

February 9, 2021 at 17:11 #1522356Wonder how much they ‘covered’ with the monstrous O/R’s?
BUY THE SUN
February 9, 2021 at 17:29 #1522358Lol true , you need to remember bookies don’t gamble

February 9, 2021 at 18:35 #1522368Has innocent trainer Laura Morgan handed in her licence? She said after the race that she knew nothing about the horse as she only had it for a week or so. Well, it was some placing anyway.
And of course, there is no reason to be suspicious when a newly formed syndicate buys its very first horse and the money keeps pouring on….. Surely, this is very good for the image of betting and horse racing in general.
February 9, 2021 at 18:49 #1522373Lol ruby remember the standard ” change of scenery ..change of routine ” explanation when horses suddenly find form for a new trainer , I wonder what was said to the stewards on course

February 9, 2021 at 18:53 #1522375Oh HDLG, I forgot what difference a week makes…..
About 2 stones I’d say….
February 10, 2021 at 20:30 #1522527Do these trainers actually manage to keep a straight face when they are hauled in front of the stewards and say ‘I have no idea what this is all about m’lud, I only had a quid each way for a bit of interest’.
Is it any wonder racing is dying with this sort of stuff going on?
February 10, 2021 at 21:49 #1522531….as the group 4 van pulls in the racecourse carpark to pick up the winnings , I was at Ayr races about 6 or 7 years ago , i was at the preparade ring with my dad ( Keith dalgleish had win the prev race , i think the horse won at 14-1 or 16-1 )and was preparing his runner for the next race , this guy walked up and handed him a right hand full of wad ( I mean full hand ) and walked off …. All in 5 secs and he barely looked up …I think the stable may have been on

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"February 11, 2021 at 18:57 #1522641I wonder if Iain Jardine will be going it alone with his next coup. If you want a job done right, do it yourself.
Jardine also trained one of the runners in the bungled Marmon coup on 15/11/19 (Camile, who won well) while the Christian Williams horses (and a failure from all concerned to WALK THE COURSE and keep away from the worst ground up the inside) let the gamble down. Again dependable Mr. Jardine fulfilled his role with Blowing Dixie in last weekend’s gamble while Daragh Bourke’s leg cost them the big chop.
I also wonder whether Southwell’s forthcoming surface change forced the plotters to move quicker than they wanted to. There aren’t many more fibresand fixtures left and Blowing Dixie wouldn’t be such great plot material on any other surface. Gallaher’s Cross ultimately shaped (and indeed looked) like a horse just in need of a run.
February 14, 2021 at 12:37 #1523018Possibly easy enough for the clever to spot in the fruition stage but not the more pocket damaging run up.🧐
Maybe I am set in my ways and yes Agatha Chritie still does it for me at any time of day, but I could never hav a Quentin Tarantino for breakfast or early or late afternoon.🧐
February 19, 2021 at 15:55 #1523615Fire Away won again today beating the only horse with a bit of form in the 3:42 at Fakenham. The pair were 25 lengths clear of the remainder and Fire Away was only pushed out to win, after cantering throughout the race and taking the furthest route as well.
He clearly was 25-30 lbs well in when he won at Musselburgh. Still hard to believe that connections didn’t know how good he was/is after two wins.
