Can only speak from my own lookout but 10 million is a ridiculous overestimate. Unless other firms have really let their guard down, it’ll be more like a fifth of that number all in.
Interesting to think about the logistics of this. Did ‘they’ mean to spill the beans overnight when limits are tiny or could their people not contain themselves? Or were they happy to get most of it on at the reduced prices? 9/1 on the treble at morning prices is nothing compared to the fancy numbers, but if you think they’re all absolute certs then why not?
Some good sport around on Twitter following the reaction though. Simon Nott and Steeplechasing letting themselves down badly in particular.
Hopefully Iain Jardine, Daragh Bourke and Laura Morgan have their licenses suspended until this is all fully investigated. Kudos to the organiser though. Win or lose on the last leg, this is a brilliant bit of plotting.

I reckon he,ll go in tank
Won’t bother me much if it does, mate. This isn’t exactly a Gary Wiltshire/ Fujiyama Crest scenario
February 7, 2021 at 16:22 #1522045Lol true tank
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 7, 2021 at 16:27 #1522050Hope the gamble comes off! Good luck whoever’s behind it

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"February 7, 2021 at 16:34 #1522056A Tote Monopoly stops all this sort of nonsense. Everyone’s a winner apart from the cheats and the thieving bookmakers.
February 7, 2021 at 16:40 #1522059Tote monopolies also make betting totally joyless, yeats. Back in your box.
February 7, 2021 at 16:43 #1522060Tank knew.

Back in your box mate, you’ve only been on here for 2 minutes.
Respect others opinions or clear off.
On what basis should the 3 trainers have their licences suspended as you suggest?February 7, 2021 at 16:59 #1522067It’s joyless because you can’t take a price. Nobody with an IQ above 60 bets on the Tote. It would kill the sport dead.
Clearly your opinion is more valid since you have 3000 posts though – forgive me, oh great one.
February 7, 2021 at 17:05 #1522069Judging from the quality of your posts you could be right
February 8, 2021 at 09:09 #1522159The question is why would anyone back a horse at 4/5 which was double carpet odds before????
I am the patron saint of lost causes but even I’d leave that one well alone, gamble or not.
Falling off a bandwagon is more painful than jumping on I guess.February 8, 2021 at 12:21 #1522179Things like this are bad for the image of the sport
The shady behind the scenes collusion between trainers and owners
Who then pretend they know nothing about it despite this clearly taking weeks and months to put together
The punters who had honest bets in the race based on form got screwed over by both the over round and the sudden improvement of these horses
February 8, 2021 at 14:28 #1522198The O/R is a separate issue from the plot, and is all on the bookmakers. There is no excuse for it. 148% is an outrage.
BUY THE SUN
February 9, 2021 at 11:22 #1522310I am not that bright. Can somebody tell me what the connection between the three horses is?
