Class told in the end, Townend won that as easily as he dared, didn’t start riding till well after everyone else to spare his horse on the ground. The usual slow bike race but good to see Gerri Colombe turning in a decent performance. Lecky Watson went well for a long way- you wouldn’t put anyone off a National bet on better ground.
