Leaving aside all the usual comments (please) about this race, it looks as good a renewal as I can remember
I was hoping Three Card Brag would go Gold Cup, but realistically this was always the obvious race for him. I’m fairly red on him for Cheltenham, so betting him to win stake back
Given how good a renewal it is, happy to have another at a price
Had to whittle down………
Jordans
Lecky Watson
Stellar StoryJordans is a horse I’ve been tracking without betting, and though I just know he’s going to pop up at a price, his Thyestes run means he’s the first input a line through
Lecky and Stellar both ran crackers in The Savills, and can’t split them right now
Stellar Story’s win in The Albert Bartlett, still gives me nightmares, and wouldn’t be keen to miss him here. Give him a fair chance
Lecky Watson didn’t look like he was trying to get his mark down last time, it was more concerning than that, but given connections, probably best not to dwell on that, and no surprise were he to bounce back here. He’s just the preference at the moment over Stellar
Haven’t had a second bet yet, even though the prices on the other pair are very appealing. Be watching the market, and also aware, regardless of how hood a race it looks, that it could be ripe for a Rule 4
Edit – Just going with Three Card Brag
Three Card Brag 9-2

February 20, 2026 at 20:43 #1755465Willie Mullins summary on his chances…
Grangeclare West – conditions of the race suit but has to recover from a poor run
Spanish Harlem – task looks difficult
Captain Cody – will like the trip, but may not have the rating to win it and likely prefers Spring ground.
Lecky Watson – ran poorly last time and isn’t as well suited by the conditions of the race having to concede 12lbFebruary 21, 2026 at 08:47 #1755531Just why is Mullins running any of them …. Lovely chance to pop Lecky around the back again , I’ll be adding Stellar story

February 21, 2026 at 09:43 #1755556Three Card Brag.
The more I know the less I understand.
February 21, 2026 at 10:49 #1755568Right had a sit down and ditched Stellar , Intense Raffles has only been beaten here once , his ground and this could be his grand national so he’s played with Lecky Inc rev forecast , I’ll be honest a pop round and run on for Lecky is what i want to see
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 21, 2026 at 12:35 #1755608After his unfortunate unseat at the last I’m again with Spanish Harlem
February 21, 2026 at 13:07 #1755622Three Card Brag for me also.
February 21, 2026 at 13:14 #1755623I really wonder if a slog is what Three card brag wants , he jumped like a stay in the GN but didn’t get home
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
February 21, 2026 at 13:27 #1755625Over a mile shorter than a GN trip the ground shouldn’t be much of an issue for Three Card Brag.
February 21, 2026 at 15:23 #1755705Can’t help but feel sorry for Gerri Colombe there. He’s run a cracker.
February 21, 2026 at 15:25 #1755708Class told in the end, Townend won that as easily as he dared, didn’t start riding till well after everyone else to spare his horse on the ground. The usual slow bike race but good to see Gerri Colombe turning in a decent performance. Lecky Watson went well for a long way- you wouldn’t put anyone off a National bet on better ground.

February 21, 2026 at 15:48 #1755732You can easily see 3 or 4 in mix come April , Eliott will delighted with the 2nd , seems the light still burns
