That’s why I think they should give Cobden a go HDLG.
Nico has gone down with horse so many times now that the minute he get’s onboard it’s like pure PTSD.
I understand that it would possibly hurt Nico a lot but how much is the current situation hurting Buckley, Nicky and the Stable Lass/Lad who looks after the horse day in day out. It’s also doing the horse no favours and he’s likely to lose his life soon if something isn’t changed.
Surely Nico can be the bigger man and tell Nicky to try something different. There’s no point in him being onboard when he thinks he may fall at every single hurdle.
I know J Bowen was tried before but the horse was clearly unwell that day and Bowen isn’t a top class jockey for me anyway.
I’m not putting the boot into Nico. I’ve always been a huge fan of his and while I did think he was well past his best this past 12 months or so, he has been back riding really well this past couple of weeks again.
I just think he and this horse have had one too many mishaps together and the mutual trust is completely shot.
