from the Ricci’s and trainer Willie Mullins to all those who watched over him on a
daily basis.RIP a true champion.

More info:
Mullins said: “It’s been a lovely, dry day here and Vautour was out in the paddock with his usual companion Shaneshill.
One of the girls went out to feed him. There didn’t appear to be anything untoward as Shaneshill was grazing away, but Vautour was found to have broken his foreleg.
He goes out there every day and it’s just a freak accident.
“It’s tough to take.”
November 6, 2016 at 17:48 #1271087Awful news, Racing Post states it happened in his paddock with Shaneshill. They must be feeling terrible, we have some old ex-racehorses at home and this afternoon I popped one in a tiny paddock for 10 mins, it went potty for some reason, these things happen in a blink of an eye and I feel so sorry for them all.
November 6, 2016 at 17:49 #1271088The horse was something special and a sight to behold at the last 3 festivals. The turn of pace he showed in the Ryanair to effortlessly pull clear of the field was stunning, I literally gasped.
Such a huge loss to racing.
November 6, 2016 at 17:52 #1271089He could have been one of the all time greats. I’m shocked to hear this. Of all the Mullins horses he was the one I was most looking forward to seeing this season.
November 6, 2016 at 17:54 #1271090This is the most dreadful news..tears streaming down my face. Poor poor boy I can’t believe we will never see him again..a Legend. Condolences to all who loved and cared for him.
What an awful start to the jumps season. ..

Goodbye sweet lovely boy you will always have a special place in our hearts.xxxThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...November 6, 2016 at 18:17 #1271094Just caught this dreadful news – could have happened anyhow, from a kick, to galloping about or even getting up awkwardly from rolling. Awful day for those at Closutton, especially on the back of losing Avant Tout as well today.
