Hi everyone – great to have a winner again last Saturday with our only selection, Dashel Dasher, winning at 7/1 (advised, 6/1 SP) making it 2 winners from 4 selections this year. It feels like we’re back on track after a disappointing last quarter in 2020.
After the news that Cheltenham has been abandoned I’m left with just the one selection for tomorrow. It runs at Lingfield where RENARDEAU (11/2 generally) makes a fair bit of appeal. His course record is 11212 with all those runs having taken place over tomorrow’s trip. His last race at Lingfield was a Grade 3 (same as tomorrow) and he finished a good second to David Simcock’s Omnivega, an improver who has won twice since and shifted rapidly up the handicap. Renardeau, on the other hand, has slid down 5 lbs, despite a couple of creditable efforts.
That leaves him looking feasibly handicapped, on a track he clearly relishes and over an ideal trip. He has to overcome likely short priced favourite Pirate King but the 11/2 underestimates his chance of doing so I think.
Have a great weekend,
David
