Like Moehat, I have been a lifelong supporter of NH racing, and have always watched Saturday racing and looked forward to Cheltenham week. Nowadays I struggle to watch live racing, and prefer to watch a recorded version – having first checked on here that there were no fatalities in the races I watch. If a particular favourite of mine is running, I would rather check the result before I watch the race, rather than have my heart in my mouth the whole way through. This week has been particularly bad, with so many losses – the wins for Sprinter Sacre and Thistlecrack made up for it in some ways, but I am finding it harder and harder to balance my love for NH horses with the emotional stress of watching them run.

I love this site, and visit it pretty much daily – although I don’t post myself. I have been a NH racing fan for as long as I can remember, but like to keep up-to-date on what is going on under both codes. I don’t use Twitter or Facebook, and mourn the passing of many good forums that have died the death since everyone seems to prefer to correspond via other media. As has been said already, the tone on TRF is generally much more tolerant than elsewhere, and there are some genuinely knowledgeable posters from whom I learn much – particularly in relation to betting, which baffles me utterly!
I hope TRF continues to exist – there are many discussions which are much better suited to a forum, and I suspect that there will eventually be a backlash against platforms such as Twitter and FB. There are some excellent wordsmiths on here, so keep it up!
