You’re not wrong there,boss.
I remember having a decent bet on him on Lincoln Place a few years ago.He had the race at his mercy but managed to fall at the last.
Poor guy broke his leg.
Every cloud…

My first post was in reply to the(now deleted)thread starter, who wasn’t me even though it appears that way.
Another thing to twiddle with if the forum is fine-tuned.
It is sad that little green[/color:3s7o1dw7] never made it big.I think he’s an ok guy, from what I’ve seen of him on many forums. His main failing, imo, was that he could never admit to being wrong about anything. He always had to have the last word.Maybe this is why some didn’t like him?
I’d like to see his words again, but even if Corm offered the olive branch I’m not sure he’d take it.He seems to be banned from most places, but he could post on betfair where he was C A T.The fact that he didn’t bother much may mean he’s bored of board life.I do feel that this is the place where he felt truly at home, though.
He did TV as well,so we did get to see him.
Got to see his lips move, more like! From what I gather Mr Brough was not an especially gifted ventriloquist, and the medium of TV exposed that shortcoming pretty quickly.
He was probably still better than the subject of this clip, though;

Ah-Ha!

What about the "Clitheroe Kid"?
That was a strange one.
Regards – Matron

I’d almost forgotten about Jimmy Clitheroe…
ps-I only know what I hear on the wireless.
I shall have to give this Naughton chap a bell-£1.50 a minute sounds reasonable.
I didn’t mention where I was, though, did I?

That’s true- but I know you had a few bob on Mon Mome,so you must be in a good place…unless you laid most of it off.

I’m waiting to join Rory’s syndicate,thanks anyway.
I’m nothing but a bit player I’m afraid.
Oh I see.Thought that I’d read on here that you were part of a syndicate that scooped the pot,and a sizeable one at that.
My mistake.
Peter Brough’s vent act on the wireless was indeed strange. He did TV as well,so we did get to see him.I would prefer his radio work as I find a vent’s dummy to be quite spooky.Still remember that film called Magic with Anthony Hopkins

Dickie often manages to hit the deck when entrusted with my hard-earned

The edit facility should only be available for a short time after one has posted something. It seems to be everlasting.Don’t suppose that’s a big deal on here, but imagine the fun the betfair boys would have with that on their forum.

The campaign to get it to no.1 will fail.
gc did a link to lots of these last year, Tor; Twizzle was particularly wierd; I’m surprised we all grew up to be the well balanced individuals that we are!
GC surely isn’t old enough to remember stuff on this thread.I think he’s a good twenty years younger than the likes of you,me and the male bee.
Though he seems very knowledgable about a lot of things.
I doubt any of you remember Torchy the battery boy

Gamble, since you told me that the thread which your post relates to was saved–I’ve been having a little read of it.I wonder how this forum would be today if ‘the log’ had gained ownership?
btw, I called this forum a parish in the ‘Mysterious Disappearance’ thread.Every parish must have a church, hence this thread.
Never expected any visitors…Well,maybe Grimes.
Nice of you to pop in
