I tuned into C4 Racing today for the first time in a while.

It took me all of five seconds to reach for the ”mute” button.

The reason? Alistair Down drawled the word ”class” as the jolly went to post – maybe because I haven’t got any [class, that is] silence suddenly had infinitely more appeal.

I hope if he ever comes back he will be booed off the racecourses and

have rotten things chucked at him

    as its all he deserves.

That’s not very nice. I’m sure his mum loves him – well, assuming his mum was in on who he was hooking up, that is.

Less is more, so I’ll confine my posting here to the ”hi” bit.

Are we sure this ”elderly lady” wasn’t, in fact, Glenn [a notorious master of disguise] himself, trying his ”I’m a tearful little old lady” act’ in his latest attempt to get pro punter ”bad ew bets” on?

There was a time when Derby winners routinely stayed in training at four and went for the Ascot Gold Cup.

But times change and that idea is ludicruous now.

And that’s what’s happened to the Triple Crown – it’s become ludicrous.

Staying 1m 6f plus isn’t considered a commercially exciting feat any more

so Sea The Stars, like Nashwan, won’t even run at Doncaster.

Tuna, cheese, mayo and a dash of chili ketchup is my fave filling at present.

Any other Group 1 combos out there?

you’d have to agree Rishi Persad has also done a great job at Wimbledon the past two weeks.

I don’t know about that, but I’d certainly have to agree wth anyone who said that Mr Persad is the greatest beneficiary of positive discrimination in the history of the BBC as an employer.

It would be nice to be able to say Sea The Stars is poor value at 1.64 on Betfair, but he isn’t.

    Won with a brilliant laziness.

I can think of more worthwhile people to feel sorry for than Ronnie Biggs in this imperfect world of ours.

Cancello is the one I remember most.

I saw him lose a two-runner steeplechase by 12 lengths to Royal Frolic over 2m 150yds at Doncaster in January 1978.
