I have never seen a racehorse that doesn’t live in the lap of luxury, get the best of food, and veterinary care etc. The stable staff are heartbroken when a fatality occurs, be it a selling plater or a class act.<br>On the other side of the fence I also sponsor horses & ponies at Redwings Horse Sanctuary, where I also visit. The amount of cruelty that some of these poor creatures have had to endure has to be seen to be believed. In some cases they cannot be saved. The RSPCA do prosecute when they can trace the owners, in my opinion some of them should be locked up for a very long time. There is no comparison to the way racehorses are treated, I will reiterate they have a great life, whereas those that end up at Redwings & other similar places are looked after till the end of their days in a kind & humane way, finding sanctuary at last after, in a lot of cases years of cruelty.<br>
not all racehorses are treeted with care and respect one that comes to mind was hello dandy thank god we have places like moorcroft who rescued him
i didint say i did not like seeing horses race i said it was sad when thay get killed over the national fences and i dont think they have any choice but to jump them
thankyou venusian for agreeing with me the way some people are mocking george washington i agree he just might need time to mature i would love for him to be able to proove all these doubters wrong
it makes me sick that you call yourself horse lovers and you can mock the problems george washington is having with his fertility you didint mock him when he was winning races
it was sad to hear of the death of geos he was one of my favorites it was a shame he could not enjoy a happy retirment he deserved better than dying on the racetrack:( :( :(
