Hi THM
Did Davy mention anything about ground conditions for Un Atout as he`s only raced on ground with the word heavy in it?
Extremely interesting prospect if he isn`t ground dependant.
Good morning Gordie.
Comprehensively written, and thanks for taking the time to put this up.
Would it be fair to say, and no, not a trap of any kind, that the selections so far will form the nucleus of your Cheltenham attack, or is there anything else that you are waiting for news on that you may plunge on pretty heavily ante – post, with conditions in favour perhaps?
Right, covered todays bets in exactas and trifectas, so bound to go boobs skywards
Unlucky Softie.
Just beaten for the exacta by a 66/1 shot. Ouch!Exacta in the bag then up pops the rag…….material for the Poet Laureate to use i reckon.
Um, minor point Ginge, and i may have missed it somewhere, but have you mentioned that all bets should be placed BOG where possible?
Afternoon Softie,
You’ll be able to get a rest from the ear bashing on Saturday. .Hmmm……are you giving him a lift there and back then Ginge?
Right, covered todays bets in exactas and trifectas, so bound to go boobs skywards
Morning Ginge
First things first and just to rub your nose in it Racing Post Chase:-
Exacta £73.70
Trifecta £440.80And no i never played them either which may have to change!
As for yesterday, went to an extremely cold Fontwell with Keith, who, as per usual, never stopped yakking all the way there, during, and all the way back, bless him, my ears still in recovery mode
Can`t disagree with that summing up of The National Spirit and Prospect Wells ran out the worthy winner, think it shocked the Fontwell crowd somewhat as these guys were all popping the hurdles with ease instead of the normal bunny hopping, kicking them them out of of the ground or clattering through them, that they are more used to down there.
Got to feel sorry for Mikael D., just can`t get his fencing right, all seems to be going well, gets himself into a nice rythmn, then he makes a right howler and can`t recover.
Another very good day on the betting front tho` – think you might have got the hang of this lark
Sent you a pm with a bit of info.for you to look at.
Simply brilliant Ginge – that`s added plenty of beer tokens to the account!!
Excellent Day`s racing at Kempton, and a really tidy profit to round it all off. Time for an increase in the points value i reckon.Just been catching up with some replays from earlier and a couple of really gutsy front running performances from Roi de Mee ( great price ) and Ballygarvey.
Saw Opening Batsman polish his field off with aplomb at Kempton during the afternoon, and yet another nice winner for Harry Fry.Off to Fontwell tomorrow for the National Spirit where Nicholls has half the field, and there`s some nice racing at Naas too.
Should be another interesting day.Morning Ginge
What`s your price to beat for Quantitativeeasing in the biggie at Kempton?
I hope Gordie boy doesn`t put that up as his lay for today, far too big for laying purposes and goes against his normal approach.
Just have to wait i guess.Good morning Gordie Boy
Porridge today. off to Kempton and i reckon it`ll be a bit nippy
Loads of ammunition from yesterday, but sadly it`s Saturday and i have other priorities but i`m thinking you must reckon that you`re re-living the Battle of The Somme, coz you keep wandering out of the trench waiting to be shot at But that`ll need to wait for now.
Can you please stick up your lays as early as poss. today, couple like last week would be brilliant, you know. those overbet underpriced no hopers like Somersby that you are so good at.
Thanks in advance, oh shame about your Cheltenham portfolio, never meant for a trap, just tranparency, but i`ll guess we`ll never know the real picture now. Still, after timing always makes for a far better picture eh?
Have a great day my lovely
Cheerios this morning, bit soft though, must be out of date, oh well.
Right, first things first, a new handle as Ginge has blown the old one open, if spelt slightly differently!!
Not really at my creative best so leave it for now.Anyways, further to your post on Ginge`s thread, i sense a challenge here, and i reckon you`re up for a challenge.
Clearly on a day to day betting basis you are not in Ginge`s league, unless you do opt for lays of course that isHowever, this is your chance to prove that you are indeed the ante post king.
Rather than anyone one else toil through your thread to find them, you, being a meticulous planner, would have all of your Cheltenham bets listed and it would be a simple matter to post a precis here.
All of your bets – entered, scratched, alive, or sadly not, so that we can see exactly what`s what, before the very first race on the first day, as anything else would be after thingy, now wouldn`t it?At the end of the festival we can then check to see how you fared, and if successful, believe me, i shall be delighted to pat you on the back, blow you kisses from afar and eat lashings and lashings of humble pie, and take note of everything you proclaim going forward.
I look forward to seeing these bets when you feel able.
Oh by the way, have you ever been a shepherd at any time?…possibly too cryptic.
Right soggy cheerios to finish…laters.
Still, onwards and upwards, have you had a look at The Betfair Chase at Kempton on Saturday yet, be interested in your thoughts as an Ante Post specialist?
Meanwhile keep those lays coming.
Softie dear boy there’s only one horse who I’d really like to run on Saturday in the big race at Kempton and thats
Wishful Thinking
,I honestly believe he’s tailor made for it plus Mr Hobbs does love a tilt so the question you have to ask yourself is "Do I risk taking 38’s on the machine" about what will be an 8/1 shot if he runs or does the fact that both his stable companions
Menorah
,32’s and
Captain Chris
,24’s trading shorter put you off.All 3 are better than handicappers but I can see one of them running, hopefully the aptly named
Wishful thinking
! You could of course back all 3!
Hmmm, i`m thinking you must have a hotline to the Whateleys, as they own all of those 3.
Sadly all bunked off at the 6 day stage tho` so probably leaves the way clear for Rolling Aces and Nichols being a Saturday and all that. Shan`t get involved at this stage now though.
Cheers Ginge – have you only got a lay bet on Katenko in the Gold Cup – looks like a big priced lay, if safe enough though?
Be nice to see Gordie list his out too, buy they`ll be cloaked in secrecy no doubt
Morning Gordie, just a quick hello whilst chomping on my coco pops.
Apart from the first part of the reply which was entirely predictable, i thought overall you were quite restrained, even had me thinking you`d taken a humility tablet for a moment!!
Yeah, sorry about not reading your post concerning Somersby BEFORE the event, as you know i`ve pinged you in the past for after timing and i now seem to have done it myself, but to be fair had i seen it before, i would have commented as it was so obvious. Bit like tipping Bobs Worth for the Royal Hunt Cup really, although the issue wouldn`t be stamina there now would it?
Still, onwards and upwards, have you had a look at The Betfair Chase at Kempton on Saturday yet, be interested in your thoughts as an Ante Post specialist?
Meanwhile keep those lays coming.
I think yesterday pretty much summed it up for me Gordy boy.
How on earth you could believe that under yesterdays race conditions,Somersby, fine horse though he is, could EVER win that race simply beggars belief. That shows a typical total lack of preparation, firing a bet from the hip and putting all those "followers" away.
As a self proclaimed meticulous planner in your business dealings i would of thought that you would have known better, and treated those followers with some respect.
So, to sum up yesterday, Gordy boy puts up 2 tips and loses yet another £400, Ginge puts up umpteen bets and profits by 69 points. Bit more effort required i grant you, but i know where i would rather be.
Yes Gordy, you are in a different league, in raconteuring…..made that up i think.., b*llsh*t and egotism, but NEVER as a tipster, unless of course you suggest that your followers LAY the selections and not BACK them: at least that way they may make some profit.
Tis an entertaining thread though – great laugh, if somewhat fraudulent.
Oh, and in anticipation of what i expect your reply to be
3:15 Plumpton
41 points @ 7/2 (L) No No Bingo (min 100/30)28 points @ 11/2 (B365) Simply Wings (min 11/2)
Simply Wings flew home! Both horses backed shortening significantly, No No Bingo halving in price but ran as if something amiss. Simply Wings in to 7/2 won well. Getting back most (113) of my -132.33 points deficit from Saturday… Where after the first bet Bally Legend going in, nothing else went right. With three more seconds, no truer words than "Godsmejudge", just missing out in the "Classic".
I’ll be taking a look at a couple of possible betting races at Ffos Las tomorrow, other than that hopefully Newbury will beat the frost Wednesday.
Went to Plumpton yesterday and conditions underfoot were certainly desperate. Simply Wings really seemed to relish it whereas No No Bingo never looked to be at ease at all maybe something wrong,as you say, or possibly ground just too heavy.
Okay , thanks Ginge. Surprisingly, the BSP on Desperate Dex was 5.3 which suggests market weakness even for a top 3 finish.
Newbury it is, although who knows what the weather might be up to by that time.
You`re right Ginge,it shouldn`t continue, but you`ve given yourself a terrific buffer going into 2013.Very promising indeed
Oh and one further request for those following the thread – including me – when you have finished your selections for the day, can you put at the end of the final post, something like " no more bets today". Saves looking beyond that for non existent later bets.
"Thang you very much"
Great day yesterday Ginge very well played ……..you can retire for the rest of the year now
Bit concerned that we might have to put up with you for another season at Goodwood though or will it be larger portions of fish and chips at Newbury now ??
