Hope Kepy Blanc “is ok.”
Oh dear, no he isnt; he has been put down.
Never mind, who gives a fecking toss?I can never think of John Egan without thinking of his ‘winning’ on Millie’s Kiss or was it Mandarin Princess? No, I think I was right first time but I too find it confusing.
It was an NH Flat Race too; I watched him drop back but nothing looked particularly wrong unlike Dubai Icon this evening, who is presumably dead too. Why are so many horses being destroyed on the flat?
I love the endeavour and majesty of the sport but haven’t followed NH since the early nineties and now continually struggle with the deaths on the flat.
There are five 3 year olds set to carry 11st 2lb; if any ‘go wrong’, it’s Goodnight Vienna for them.
Stradivarius would have won but for Trueshan and Thunderous. At least the stewards looked at Thunderous’ lugging “sharply left.” It was however surprising to see Trueshan suddenly come off the bridle over 3f out, come upsides Stradivarius and seemingly knock him off balance.
I am afraid I am turning against doyle. Catbird Seat was alive an hour ago; she has just won the Plate and clearly couldn’t care less about the poor dead horse.
I had backed Trueshan but cannot take any pleasure in his magnificent performance; I am sickened; she also seemed to kick Trueshan a lot; not pretty.Dancing Brave
Were the stewards moonlighting from the football association?
I left a voicemail with the bha immediately after the television presenters commiserated with William Haggas; I have not received a reply.
The final bends on some of the all weather courses may be too sharp, given their proximities to the winning lines, and cause too much lateral pressure to be placed on the legs of the racehorses.
I haven’t been to an nh meeting since the grand national in 1990, when Hungary Hur was killed whilst the dispassionate moronic masses cheered on their 50p each way wagers, and I am concerned, admittedly from a partly selfish point of view because I am interested in the sport, that I may have to give up on the flat too unless the bha takes action to protect the horses. The suppression of reporting of the equine fatalities does the horses no favours.
