iris’s gift?? beleive what u want to, but it was jonjo and the team at jackdaw’s who decided where to run. dad would admit to anybody that he knows nothing about training horses. he and jonjo have been mates for over 20 years, and whatever jonjo wanted to do happened. we never even knew where IG was running until the entries. why would you pay somebody about 2 grand a month and then try to do their job for them? mr lester snr may be guilty of being a bit publicity happy, and giving a story to the racing post or any reporter who phoned him. but telling jonjo how to do his job, no i don’t think so.

‘ted’ was always a people’s horse, and the public latched onto him right from the early days. maybe because he’s a grey, and maybe because it was a small owner taking on the big boys and regularly beating them. would you all rather have the secrecy that surrounds certain horses, or somebody who keeps the public informed?

were all still gutted about iris’s gift, but hopefully the new horse will run well tomorrow. he ran well against shiwawa when finishing 4th 1st time out. is anybody at uttoxeter tomorrow? anything fancied, i could do with the christmas funds boosting!

cheers lads, we’ll never forget the great memories, how many people are lucky enough to walk into the winners enclosure at any racecourse, never mind at the festival in a championship race. i still get goose bumps when we watch the video back. when barry kicks for home and sneeks a little peek over his shoulder what a fantastic feeling!

i think it’s a possibility, but u know what jonjo is like! the grand national is also a possibility. but i don’t think the old man’s ticker would put up with that!

we honestly don’t know, he’s had a lot of problems over the years that have taken something away. he seems to be getting very tired, but hardly blowing when he gets back to the enclosure. almost as if he gives up when a horse goes past him. hopefully in a lower grade race this might not happen, or we could just be clutching at straws!

cheers dave, thats what we’re hoping too! he’s been schooling really well, hope we’ve found the key. just hope he puts in a good performance, no excuses this time! jonjo say’s the horse is spot on, so we’ll wait and see.

AP is the best jock about, but his style doesn’t suit every horse. he wasn’t jocked off as such, but the horse jumped so well for dominic that they thought it’s worth trying him in the race.

    anybody going to wetherby tomorrow?

the suprise might not be happening now, so i’ll keep my mouth shut! it is true what ap said, it is also true that he has the option to ride about 4/5 other horses including take the stand, but wants to ride IG. personally i would like to see barry back up and believe it or not he want’s the ride too. i bet that lad hasn’t had many offers has he??

yes she is my little sis. he’s may not run next week but is in great form at home, may not have a prep run but he goes well fresh and that wouldn’t bother us, i wouldn’t mind gettin on at 50’s instead of the measly 25’s on offer at the mo!!

yes that was me, it’s really funny when everyone looks at you and thinks, who the hells ted! we all have a good day out if you hadn’t noticed!!

we’ve got a new plan for his jumping, just let him gallop straight through the fence and on the second circuit there will be a gap big enough for him to get through!

don’t worry, i can take a bit of stick. we all know he jumped crap. the thing is it just doesn’t stop him, the big dopey git just keeps galloping!! i do think he will improve with experiance, he jumps well at home, and the faster he goes the better he jumps. he just doesn’t concentrate. he was definately better 2nd time round when ap drove him into his fences
