The finest arguement i have ever seen on here.
Excellent stuff,
Ray
The Racing Post site is now carrying an article about John Ferneley.
Lets see if they follow this up and find the person(s) responsible!
Ray
i remember seeing the old "National" winner Hello Dandy at a re-hab centre in the cumbria area once.
He was on the mend, but the photo’s of him on his arrival were disgusting.
How many Grand Nationals can you win in a lifetime?
The old fella deserved better!
Ray
The last piece of form in England on the Racing Post site goes back to june 2001.
The trainer at that time was……Mrs Ramsden!!!
Wonder who she sold it to?
If i had owned a horse that good I’d care for it for ever, whatever the cost.
Miserable b*****d
s!
RayIf someone gives you a tip for a horse that is TRYING that day, and it wins are YOU bent for backing it??
Or do you consider that to be fair game?
You can’t have it both ways!
If you believe that racing is 100% straight, then you must also believe in the tooth fairy!
Ray
My son has G1 Jockey on the PS2, (he never gets to play it though).
It is a great game.(and i dont usually like the games he plays)
I say oh just let me have a go,and then go to bed at 1pm!
really is quite addictive, you’ve just got to ride 1 more winner!..lol
Try it and see!
Ray

I think the future for the lower rated horse may lie on the all weather.
They could perhaps lay on 12 or so race cards starting at about 11.00am the people who own and train these horses would’nt complain about the start time, would just be pleased at getting a chance to run.
also make the whole card for horses rated 40-60 or so, it may not be "Top Class" but all concerned would be given a chance to compete on a level-ish playing field.
And if Mr johnston does’nt want to see it he does’nt have to watch!
These meetings could run 3 times or so a week through the winter if neccessary, just give them a chance to run!
Ray
Prince Regent……
if you know its not running, then why would want to back it?
i’ve yet to see a bookie twisting somebody’s arm to make him place a bet…..have you??
any more revelations?
Ray
Would Prince Regent like to share the "Bookies" dubious practises with us.
I’d be most intrigued to read them.
Are we talking on-course, high street or internet.
Do enlighten us please!
Ray
There was a horse that ran in Ireland called Slippery Dick, the funniest moment i recall with this one was, when the commentator said "Slippery Dick is coming from behind and gets up to win by a Length"…Classic!!!
Also one that got through was "Selosra"…spell it backwards!
Oh just remembered a horse that used to run against Slippery Dick was Foxy Fanny, its true honest.
Ray
I backed Boreal @ 33’s on the understanding that Fallon was on board!!(Thanks Keiron)
Fallon stated a couple of months back that this was one of the best horses he had ever sat on, but now the plank is riding Golan, a tip in it’s self or just trying to get in Mr Stoute’s good books?
Peslier may be riding Boreal now, so I’m still quietly confident of a good run, but may have an interest in Golan…just in case!
Cheers,
Ray
What can I say???
Well done you lot, and well done to the little mare…….no not Kathy!!!!
That’s Amelia I meant!
Hope you had a great day,
Regards,
Ray:o
Good luck to all Amelia connections today!
Have a great day out!
Also have a saver on College Maid, to pay the expenses:biggrin:
Enjoy yourselves;)

While we are on the subject of the BBC, we can see where their priorities to racing lie.
Sunday’s coverage of the French Oaks could have been screened live, but oh no!…we have to watch the final few holes of an AMATEUR match play golf tournament.
Which was recorded itself!!!
And then 10 minutes after the Oaks has finished, they finally show it!!….Fan bloody tastic!
Tonight we shall see the BBC attempt to bring us some disturbing and quite unique footage!!!!NOT.
As widely reported, all it will show is a Trainer trying to sell the idea to a potential owner, that his cheaply bought horse COULD one day win him a few quid.
And perhaps mentioning that to do this they may not try their hardest , so as to get a better h’cap mark or a bigger price on the day that the horse is trying it’s best.
So hardly ground-breaking news there then…..that happens every day of the week!
How do you think that Reg Akehurst and more recently Dandy Nicholls land so many handicap "Touches" ???
Hardly Rocket Science is it?:o
If people who either bet on horses or own them think that every race every day is a true run race, with every horse trying their hardest, they probably still believe in the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus too!!
So lets all watch this fantastic "Expose" be revealed before our very eyes tonight, better get ready to yawn!;)
Yours So Sincerely!

Getting back to my original point(I have not backed Moor Lane, I only quoted this horse as an example)how the hell is Majed on 10-6, when he has not been over a fence in this country in public??
I think he is rated only 3lb lower than Beau! and he’s only been novice hurdling!!
It makes a mockery of the whole system.
I have no qualms with m Pipe having multiple entries, I just don’t see how it achieves this rating.
Cheers,
Ray.:o
So why is Majed(never jumped a fence in England) rated 143?
And if the Czecch’s or American’s enter a horse for the National it is automatically Top Weight???
Any ideas?
Ray.
probably owner pressure, paul.
Good luck
Ray.
