Hoppegarten is a nice track and is worth going to, with Berlin obviously another plus. Baden Baden (Iffezheim) is worth a trip End of August. German Derby in Hamburg is already for the hardliners (and it is my local track!) , as since I invited friends over from England think the place is a dump, sorry to say! there is one or two nice smaller track (you mentioned some in here already), but racing is really lowish class at moment, even the Group-races. All the above is true as well, sorry to say.

DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING RACING IN GERMANY FROM JAN – MARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ITS CRAP!!!!!!

I think Black Jacari could be a good one this season for King.

I would stop too, Paul! As you said she simply is not competive and you are not beaten that far in this class and its only due to bad draw, bad ride and/or bad going etc. This are excuses if you are beaten into 5th, 3 length! As you know I know the feeling very well, but a bad horse is as expensive as a good one when in training, and we would certainly do the same thing!

Haven´t posted on here a lot but would like to add to the conversation.

Fact is that fillies are very fickle and much more difficult to keep in the right mood. She clearly wasn´t right so far this season, and had every right to beat Bankable, who, after all, hasnt got ANY Group form, let alone Gr. I form. Surely POT did not show "Group 1 " form as such on sat., but she didn´t need to to beat Bankable, as not only did she come from a nice break, she also received so much weight. Clearly Bankable was a ridiculous price, people obviously wanted to recoup some losses from Ascot.

Coming back to the fillies thing – what I mean is never judge a horse purely on some formfacts and figures. This is true for every other handicapper who comes good when laid out, and it is very true for fillies – never forget their best form!

Germany has various bettings sites that offer near-free video service (after all, we do not have that much racing over here anyway); another one is racebets at

    http://www.racebets.com/

you need to log in and have a minium bet of €5 in 14 days in order to watch racing "free". You can, however, watch all non ATR – races for "free" then as well, with english commentry I might add.

The deposit on pferdewetten-online is 20€. ours are on since about 5 years now ….
