I usually go to that Perth meeting you spoke about Steve and in the past it has always been ok..maybe just a bad day this time round..was at Musselburgh last Saturday and once again it was a great day..even a free programme thrown in:biggrin: ..they look after everyone ..if you are with a coach party and have to park on the far side car park they have mini buses lined up to take you round to the main gate..it is only a 5 min walk but the thought they have put in for the elderly and disabled is 1st class..i will be going down to Ayr in November for the 1st time in 3 years to see if things have changed for the better..last time i vowed i wouldn’t go back as it was a tip..but you have to give the new owners the chance to sort it out..can’t make this weekend or i would have went..Hamilton and Kelso are also 1st class .

Mesh..i nearly choked on my coco pops ..Perth ..lovely course..Ian i would run the Leger at Hamilton not Ayr:biggrin: a bit nearer to me ..lol…went to Donny Lincoln meeting a couple of years back and to be honest it comes across the same as Ayr totally souless.

I’m not a big fan of Persian Punch myself but hats off to the old bugger…a while back we were asked about jockeys on another thread and i put up Martin Dwyer as a jockey i would prefer on my side ..he reminds me of wee Quinn a few years back strong as hell in  finish.

Shahrastani for me…its achievements were blighted by the fact that Dancing Brave got all the attention…at the end of the day Sharastani won the race and the fact i backed it was even better.

John in your opinion you say i doubt it ..but in my opinion i think Murtagh is the better of the 2 ..personally i have never criticised Kinane… the thing is everyone has there opinions on who is better than who ..if you think Kinane is better then fair play to you.

it doesn’t say top jock in Uk i wonder why  is it because we don’t have many top monkeys ..oops sorry jockeys in this country…for me Johhny Murtagh is a far better jock than Kinane.

Yep reading the book says it produced something in it’s own system and it dragged on for ages before it was sorted out.

Was it not Hill House Grimes who was involved in all the carry on in the Schweppes…last year his nephew from Canada was put in touch with me over something concerning the captains brother Penry i think his name was..through a site run by someone from Findon..as far as i know the brother was not exactly a top bloke when contacted by the nephew as his father had been the black sheep of the family and didn’t get to many mentions in his book..for me still up there with the best .

Ryan Price was the one for me..although i wasn’t around when he won the NH titles ,i have read a fair bit about the man over the years and for me his achievements stand out.

I remeber around 3 years ago when it was the POW a pal of mine asked for the POW special Steak Pie ..when it came out it was stew with tatties he asked why is it called the POW special..the guy behind the bar said because you don’t get pastry with it..true story.

Tony give me Perth any day over Ayr..atmosphere is brilliant..alongside Kelso as well..i think it says it all when no one in this post has had a good word to say about Ayr.
