This discussions and opinions about the german derby winner taking on the elders in the Großer Preis von baden and if he is good enough reminds me of the 2000 Edition. This was part of the Emirates World Series and Samum has destroyed a high class field. At the time i was 17 years young and have visited Baden Racecourse for the first time…couldn`t believe how easily he won against these british battalion :-)

I want to post the result as a picture. Can someone explain me please how this works? If i click on “img” i have to fill in an URL but i have this as jpeg on my hard disk.

@Hein: Do you travel to Baden? I`ll be there for the final Weekend, September the 2nd and 3rd.

No real thoughts just yet, wait and see which ones will turn up here….

I`m not sure how to assess the Derby winning form of Windstoss. Not the strongest of Derbys in my eyes and some horses behind him like Enjoy Vijay(2nd) and Promise of Peace(5th) were already beaten in a listed race and a weak grade 3.

Iquitos is the obvious one and loves the track. He might be the best chance of winning it for the Germans. If the ground gets at least soft Savoir Vivre has a very good chance but this i very unlikely at the moment.

There 15 britsh horses entered, 1 or 2 might turn up in the end, you can see the entire entries here:

Would love to the likes of Benbatl or Wings of Desire there but i doubt that this will happen.

Yes Hein, i am german too. In fact i am much more interested and punting in british racing. Don`t gambling much in german racing apart from Group Races, Baden and Hamburg :-)

Maybe i will travel to Dusseldorf an Sunday….usually i only go to the races for the big racedays in Dusseldorf and Cologne(Diana, Guineas, Preis von Europa etc.) and a couple of days Baden Baden.

I cant win a thing in this small german handicaps...dont like them. But i know your old freind Tjerk:-)

Do you often visit our races Hein?

I have seen this Frankel daughter as well, first reaction was wow…..because you wouldn`t see Frankels very often in german races. But the form is nothing Special in my eyes.

The strongest german horse in this race is probably WILD APPROACH, she was 4th in a Grade3 Race in Goodwood(4th August), so you english guys have a good comparison of form…..personally i this that you cant compare the strengh of listed class horses in Germany with this britain. Although we have real grade 1 performers that could win the biggest races all over the world the average horses aren`t this good.

So LostSoldier3, if Pirouette is in fact 10lbs below these named i think she will quite well, those named would crush this bunch :-)

There is a listed race over 7furlongs in Dusseldorf on Sunday. The british Horse is called Pirouette from the H. Morrison yard with Robert Winston on board. What are the thoughts of this horse? He is available at 3/1 with a german bookie…i think she has an excellent chance to take this and 3/1 could be very good. May well be 6/4 on sunday….if you look at the formlines with the likes of Laugh Aloud, Unforgetable Filly and Tisbutadream…she should be evens……

Just checked the Specials on racebets…they’ll go 28/1 Godolphin own the winner of this. Worth a punt :good: B-)

Surely a mistake but they’ll have taken my 20€
