I think the biggest gap in the present programme is a championship chase at around 2m4f. There may also be an argument for a hurdles equivalent.
Wouldn’t you rather be sussing out the Irish horses for Cheltenham over the next few Sundays?
I remember Mark Johnston saying in his Post column that he would be very disturbed to hear of anyone associated with his stable laying one of his runners.<br>And quite right too.<br>

I prefer to believe that English racing is not bent, at least not so bent that you could never have a bet, but statements such as the above really irritate me. Where is his evidence for such an arrogant suggestion?
It reminds me of the claims made about the British justice system once upon a time.<br>
The commentators I like are those that do more than simply recite the order of the horses in running but also remark on how they are travelling. Jim McGrath scores very highly in this regard. The South African who does the commentaries at Santa Anita is also excellent.
