That is a great shame TBB. This is one of the most refreshing threads on the internet.
Burnt Cream is interesting and that figure isn’t a surprise given the improvement she has shown in the hood and tongue tie.
Like you say she looks a good thing next time and probably the time after as well as the handicapper won’t punish her given her style of racing.El Libertador shows more improvement. He would probably win a race if he wasn’t trained by Wheeler.
Interesting pace figures, certainly a lot of food for thought.
Thanks again TBB.
Thanks TBB,as always.
Read on the forum about the possible re-opening of Great Leighs. Should be interesting. Was there a set of standards before it closed?
Woolfall Sovereign, sf 90 last time wins again today. He was a banker on your figures. Thanks.
Thanks TBB. Much appreciated.
Menadati has Kirsty Milczarek back on board and drops back three furlongs to a mile. If he can get his starting sorted he might have a chance.Kirsty won on him in September.
Furthermore, Passionada came out of a class 6 with a figure of 67 which in effect is 9lbs well in. She has a 5lbs penalty which makes her 4lbs well in today on your figures. She is up in class but this is a weak class 5 with the top weight being just rated 70.
Topspeed rated her 61, which was 1lb below his par.
Topspeed has 3lbs between class 6 and class 5 pars which I think is too close.
Hi TBB
Just picking your brains.
Strong Man runs today at Wolverhampton in the 2.35. He comes from a race at Wolverhampton 6th January that looks like it will be decent form.
Your speed figure for that run was 69, 1lb above BHA class par. Topspeed rated him 70, 5lbs above his class par.
By your ratings Strong Man has to improve 1lb to replicate that figure but Topspeed has him 3lbs well in on his figures.
I am correct in using the BHA par to compare your figures too?
However, my question to you is; What value do you place on pace figures.
I have the race that Strong Man run in as 0.13 compared to the days average of 0.23Thanks
Rob
With Bussa and Ioannou non runners Kai was massive 21 points clear of Bitaphon today. Amazing price.
In what was a match in the 3.30 Jacobs Son had 8 points in hand of Nave.Keep up the good work
Thanks Blues Brother.
Focail Maith runs tomorrow from which he recorded 79 last time in a class 5.Only Sir Boss (77) two runs back looks anywhere near him.
My only worry is nothing has placed from 7 runners in Focail Maiths race. How do you manage to get your ratings updated so quickly. I spend ages on my form figures though I am almost doing them by hand save for a couple of macros.
Good work Blues Brother. Coup De Grace was a nice winner for your figures yesterday. Though he had only achieved 54, he was well clear of his field last night at Kempton. Interesting to note he only needed to achieve 46 last night to win.
My form figures have the race looking like this. The figures are from the horses last run. The figures in brackets are the highest of their last six races. Menadati can defintely be rated higher for its last run.
Menadati has Catlin on board today, he is 11-81 for Hiatt at Lingfield and 7-42 when the yard have just the one runner..
Plenty 6/1 about this morning.Gallantry 49 (49)
Storm Runner 49 (56)
Strategic Action47 (58)
Menadati 47 (54)
Bertie Blu Boy 44 (44)
Back For Tea 43 (44)
Community 42 (52)
Temuco 40 (50)
Jumbo Prado 36 (55)
Fonterutoli 34 (55)
Macy Anne 20 (51)I watched Menadati with interest on Wednesday night as he was joint top rated on my form ratings with the winner. He is a perpetual slow starter and with it being a hands and heels race I was curious to see how the horse would react.
The formline ‘missed break’ doesn’t do him any justice. He was still in the pub when the coach left.
The horse has run really well and he is a winner waiting to happen. Whether Paul Booth is given the job is debatable.£20 per month to watch a stand alone channel with one sport wouldn’t be value for money for me.
I personally like to listen to racing through internet radio. A bit like the old exchange telegraph but without the ‘rapid late headway’Excellent thread
Thanks Blues Brother, learning curve continues to rise.
