Very poor. Rory is, imo, far from being a simpleton or an idiot. He’s a well respected member of this forum who sadly these days doesn’t post his wise words enough.
Well it is a pity he isn’t ‘wise’ enough to realise that I put that part of my statement in as a joke. My sense of humour has often been misunderstood or taken out of context. I would have thought that, in his wisdom, he could have accepted my explanation as truthful….at least until I gave him evidence to the contrary.
No…he thought it more wise to carry it on. Very sage like, I must say.
Well, just so that you know…you lot have won…I think it’s best if I just leave the forum completely now. I’m genuinely very sorry if I have offended anyone. I’m used to a little more good humoured banter than this and I think I have chosen the wrong place for it.

The only reason I like to watch him performing his ‘flying’ dismounts is in the vain hope that I can hear an almighty ‘crack’ and watch him writhing about in pain on the unsaddling enclosure floor.

The serious point of my post was mainly the final one that I made.
Anyway, thank you very, very much indeed for taking it upon yourself to promote yourself to the position of this site’s moral policeman. You are very good at it.
Maybe I should leave out the sarcasm…and maybe you should stop jumping down people’s throats following one comment. If there was a continual amount of similar post’s, then I could understand it.
This is a race that REALLY wants leaving alone from an antepost point of view…but where is the fun in that??
I just can’t make up my mind yet…that’s the biggest problem. I think I have got it down to about 17 horses though at the time of writing…and I keep spotting reasons to back others every time I look.
Been backing Fathsta last couple of races and I’m sure it has got a good race in it this year…as long as it comes up soft.
I’m going for a lie down…wake me up an hour before the race!!
I hate Frankie Dettori too. I have never liked him and I probably never will…despite the fact that he has ridden plenty of winners for me this year. Further still, I don’t know anyone who does like the guy.
Why did the subject of xenophobia arise following the original comments?? I doubt very much whether xenophobia was the reason. No, not at all. It was probably more to do with him having the sort of personality which would make ‘Jedward’ seem shy, plus, having the sort of ego that God alone should posess.

The same reason as 98% of people then. If you think that there is a loud cheer when he gets it right….just wait until he gets it wrong. It will sound like the opening race has just gone off at Cheltenham!!
The funniest thing I ever saw was him running about after winning the Derby. He was jumping and smiling and cheering and waving as he made his way back to the changing room expecting everybody to be really happy for him. Nobody could care less. He had to resort to jumping on some random bloke who was laying the silks out for the next race who was duty bound to hug him back because of the cameras.
This was after him almost beating Authorized half to death in the final furlong – despite being 10 lengths clear.
I could give a thousand reasons why I can’t abide the man…some mentioned already and some that aren’t…but I will just leave you with thoughts of a comparison between Dettori and Mick Kinane that spell it out best for me.
Mick Kinane…Sea the Stars – After every race, he simply tipped his cap and pointed to the horse. Dettori…on lots of horses – Pointing at his chest, gesturing that he is ‘no 1’ by raising his finger and looking straight for the nearest camera.
I don’t know who first coined the phrase ‘don’t believe the hype’…but I can hazard a guess that it probably wasn’t Mr Dettori.
