It seems the heart is ruling the head for some posters here, great to see Cecil winning a classic again, but its Jim Bolger for me, I love the way he campaigns his horses, no wrapping them up in cotton wool, like a lot of so called top trainers.
Abstain also, did Dettori not use his whip with excessive force and frequency on Ramonti, so he broke the rules, while the other jockeys rode within the rules, so technically Frankie cheated so Ramonti should be omitted.
Can’t believe I didn’t make the list
The Irish stewards just nick in ahead of the two faced one Curley, for their blatant ignoring of O Brien non triers.Looks like Lydia has a few admirers on here. Good journalist that she is, but I do get a hint of favouritism. DA for me.
I am going to take a back seat on this one, as I believe there is too many good friends on here voting for each other, I suppose voting for a poster of the year encourages a bit of elitism.
Yes I am sure you are right. I shouldn’t have reacted like that but statements like the one below bewilder me.
"I have might (sic) doubts as to wether (sic) Aces Four has an injury at all."
For what purpose would we feign injury? To avoid a chance of winning a share of £70K in a 3 horse race? To lose the £500 it cost to enter?
Except my apoligies, but isn’t so dissapointing that a race of that value had only four decs. Simpity for owners are wearing thin.
I posted as a responsible owner to let everyone know asap. Don’t think that I will bother again.
First off I didn’t realise your the owner, maybe the horse has a slight injury, but I will remain forever sceptical, with the way the stars of NH are been campaigned these days. The fun seems to be gone out of it fear of defeat seems to be the deciding factor, and Cheltenham been the be all and end all.
Its got to the point wether to believe a horse has an injury or not, when every big race comes along there is always 2 or 3 high profile horses pulled out. Watch a spate of fancied horses been withdrawn from the Hennessey during the week.
Jump racing is getting more and more like Flat racing, witness the way high class chasers of recent years, War of Attrition & Kicking King, have been campaigned, the cotton wool treatment. Bring back the eighties and early nineties when high class chasers took each other on, on a regular basis. There is nothing to lose by been defeated, (no balls, no stud fees).I have might doubts as to wether Aces Four has an injury at all.
did he move from Tunbridge Wells ?
*sigh* No….
Do you not get the tongue and cheek Jeremy ?
Maybe I was mistaken Aranalde, but you have to admit Prufrocks comments do come acorss a bit condescending.
Nope.
Been from Kew Palace, is nearly a dead giveaway as to his upbringing

Nope again.

One of the great intellects of the forum sticking up for one of the other great intellects.
Alright he is not originally from Kew Jeremy, did he move from Tunbridge Wells ?

Oh by the marb, Mikky Mo has posted again today.
One of the things that worries me most about modern life is that people who wear their illiteracy and bigotry like a badge of honour seem to think that their opinions count not just as much as the next man’s but more so.
People should try spelling correctly, writing coherently, arguing logically, and then people just might take the points they make seriously.
If I could be reincarnated, I would come back every time as the son of a one-legged lesbian single mother than the son of a bigot and a fool.
But, I would not deny the latter his biological "right" to breed or adopt any more than I would deny him the right to read The Daily Mail.
Pru from Kew, I see your having a right go at the not so fortunate as you, I hate bigots just like the next man, but I hate snobs also, who happen to be born to a well to do middle class family, gauranteed a good education and similar well to do friends as your peers.
A lot of the bigotry and ignorance has a lot to do with the massive class difference that existed and still exists in society. Broken homes, violent alcoholic fathers, a lot of these kids didn’t deserve to be born into that sort of life, some of these kids do really well for themselves others drop out of school early, get mixed up with the criminal element and end up with a life of crime, or become alcoholics at a an early age.
Before you down the fools and the bigots Prufrock. Who created the fools and the bigots and the crime ridden working class areas ??. Your middle class ancestors of course. Excuse me if I might have misspelt a word during my rant, as a misspelling seems to upset you so much, such triviality !Oh by the way I didn’t come form a broken home, my father wasn’t an alcoholic as my over religious mother kept that in check, a good loving working class home, but not every child is so fortunate.
You really are a clueless pillock, aren’t you madman?
Whilst I would suggest the quoted Ms Shaw’s comments are a little wide-ranging (the quality of life of other horses around the world has no bearing on horseracing, and the ‘high life’ racehorses supposedly lead doesn’t mean they can’t be mourned, so to speak), they at least show a degree of sense, respect and forethought. The same, sadly, can’t be said of anything you have posted recently.
And why do you suspect anyone who has made ‘OTT comments’ would gladly jump on the back of a hunter and derive pleasure from seeing a fox ripped to shreds? Another non-sensical remark made with no logic or foundation, proving yet again that you’re simply not worth giving credence to.
Regardless of what you think of my comments, name calling of other posters on here is something I don’t take pleasure from.
Maybe you might go back and look at some of my archived posts on the same topic before you jump to conclusions. All you have to do is look at the reaction from the tweed brigade when their form of hunting was been banned, the natives felt under siege so they all gather in central London to protest their non existent grievances. People outside of their native shell had no sympathy for their cause, as the killing of an animal for pleasure is not looked at in good light by the general public. Actually the death of Granit Jack could probably be classed as a death of pleasure aswell.
These are the people that claim to love animals, aah but the fox kills chickens, yeh the cat kills rare birds, the bird lovers call for the elimination of all moggies, so eliminate the moggies and we are over run by rodents, in fact rats eat birds eggs, so its very hypocritical of the bird lovers to hate one animal and love another. How many charities do you subscribe to Letsgoracing ???
I am a pacifist but a realist, just keep your name calling to yourself next time.I might not possess Jeremy Graysons superior intellect, but I am far from clueless.
Not a racing cliche, from the ever orange Matthew Chapman,
"Thats just my opinion, as you know my opinion means absoluetly nothing"
Then why Matt do you inflict us with at least a million and one opinions during the day.I suppose we could start a separate thread on Chapman cliches.
Why is the likes of Granit Jack more important than Ruby Walsh, Ruby nearly dies nobody seems to give a rats [expletive] about Ruby, but for heavens sake you would swear the world has just ended because granit Jack kicked the bucket.
the music is playing for the "Madman"………………
as stated before your disgracefull comments are sick i work for the owner and jack was a lovely horse, and were all devastated by his loss of life to know he wont b home this summer is very sad and then to see your idiotic comments is sick……………………..

Whatever you feel about my comments they don’t even come close to been descriped as sick.
"You can punch me, you can kick me, and you can break my spine but you won’t change the way I feel"
Below Beckstar is a letter published in the RP yesterday.
Spare a thought for others.
Before everyone gets caught up in the emotion of the day and the fate of some racehorses, please consider the hundreds possibly thousands, of horses and ponies who suffer hunger, thirst neglect and abuse in this and many other countries.
Racehorses have the best of everything- probably better than many people in some respects- while other horses are left to their own devices in fields and stables countrywide. I have been brought to tears on many occasions : after seeing horses in diabolical situations. These are the horses people should feel sorry for, direct their emotions at and call for the authorities to do something about it.
The thoroughbreds on the racecourse are doing something they love to do. Try getting a horse to gallop or jump a fence if they don’t have mind to. If they die instantly, then they probably know nothing about it : if they are injured irreparably they are put out of their suffering almost immediately – no lingering starvation or illness for them.
I have a horse, have always been around them and, of course , feel sadness for the likes of Granit Jack and Willyanwoody, but we must put these unfortunate deaths in context.Rosalyn Shaw,
Langley, BerkshireI have posted a lot of Rosalyns sentiments on here numerous times, even if I have to admit that I do sound like a broken record sometimes.
Her letter is so full of commen sense, she doesnt live in her own little fantasy world, miles away from reality, like a lot of posters on here.A lot of the people who post the OTT sentiments on the demise of Granit Jack, wouldn’t think twice jumping on the back of a Hunt horse chasing after their hounds until the hounds corner the fox and tear it to shreds.
A pretty sick form of entertainment in my eyes.November 19, 2007 at 10:59 in reply to: Mr Ed says , Self inflicted Euthanasia is the only way ! #125647"………….Now that you have admitted your an ex jockey…………"
Fists hasn’t said that exactly, Madman.
Colin
Actually your right Colin, Gallops and Racetrack two different things. Worked with the horses wether Fist ever rode in a race, we don’t know. Maybe he might enlighten us.
The guy gets banned for not trying, then gets another ban because he was trying too hard. I think that jockeys are between a rock and a hard place personally

He wasn’t trying too hard he was hitting the horse out of pure frustration, he had absoluetly nothing to gain by it, the horse would have been a clear third anyway, the 21 day ban and lack of winners, the horse paid the price for his anger, left the horse with weal marks.
