I’m not one for backing half a dozen in the race I just pick one and take my chance.
If the ground is good/good to soft then I’ll back
Oscar Time
.
If its soft/heavy then I can’t see past
Silver by Nature
.
Thought Maktu received a very poor ride.
Pulled too hard early and didn’t get home because of it IMO.
The people I really feel sorry for here are those that backed Long Run to favouritism, off a handicap mark of 158 at Cheltenham last time and saw him finish a well beaten third.
They must be thinking what on earth is going on here, he can’t win off a 158, but can win a Grade 1 Championship race off levels with horse rated 190 and many more rated higher than his 158.
You couldn’t make it up, no wonder punters haven’t got a chance.I agree AP, David Elsworth a top class trainer under both codes.
I like the look of the Venetia Williams trained
Summery Justice
in the Welsh National, currently 20/1 with Hills looks decent E/W value.
He looks a thorough stayer to me and may improve again for the longer trip, hope the meeting beats the weather, not looking encouraging though.
