I think that at the US Championship distance of 2000m he will be unbeatable for all of his contemporarys. He’s npt likely to ever run his “st Leger” distance again.

SilkI see your points, but don’t forget Justify went the first fraction at high speed, 23.3, for the first 2f, only his stablemate could have contested his early lead, but that would have flattened if not restrained.

Silkthen again they knew from the Preakness who the winner would be in a speed duel to the first.

SilkSurprises me too, you would have to sit on the very best to think the slop in the face was gonna do you any favours off pace.

SilkThat won’t happen. He had the only chance yesterday, but could not. Justify is the best dirt 3-y-o on the planet. He has a Crown to prove it.
Gronkowski did well but will never be a match to a sound Justify.Best Wishes

SilkGetting rid of races is like cutting an Oak just to get to the topleafs. All the hard work with the workman like
horses going to Cheltenham alongside the Altiors and the owners of those less significant horses looking forward to THEIR slowstars at the same meeting will shorten their horsekeep, just because some people don’t want to see their horses at Cheltenham with the legends… If 7 races is too much for your stomach, look the other way or go home early or come late.Best Wishes
SilkThe colt Reugny(FR) exported for stud duty in Australia, who won the National at 6 in 1874? Too much guessing.

SilkTwo shots: the mare Empress National winner in 1880 at 5 or Regal also winner at 5 in 1876?

SilkI hear you Steve and agree on the facts. He is only entered in the Guineas, for now. Dermot Welds only 2G Guineas winner Refuse To Bend, though winning the Gr1 National Stks at 2 only had 2 runs that year, can’t get the form on his Irish 2000 Guineas winner from 1986 Flash of Steel, but his 2006 Irish 1000 G Winner Nightime only had a maiden run Oct 1 at 2. As well as Bethrah the Irish 1000 Guineas winner from 2010, 1 run at 2, September 27 and finished 10 of 20.
Saxxon or Elarqam would probably be my first choices. I just found him interesting, Flavius, looking for some bigger price.Best Wishes

SilkSome of you probably have mentioned the eventual winner, but I’m throwing in a once raced, who has the breeding and connections going, Dermot Welds War Front son Flavius has the Classic make up, once shown and then put away. Looked very lazy and must have learned a ton. I’m sure he’s all woken up for the 3-y-o debut.
Maybe some you have an opinion or have read somethong about the horse? http://www.attheraces.com/racecard/Leopardstown/28-October-2017/1355 No stakes on the race, yet.Best Wishes

SilkI believe you are wrong Cormack, would you have liked it better not to see the Euros who turned up more than once, Goldikova, Miesque, High Chapparal, Giant’s Causeway or magnificent displays like Arazi’s Juvenile Show or Arcangues 99-1?
I would not and if the raceconditions suits as well as the venue, I’d love to see either of the two mentioned. Missed a Frankel representative this year.
But stay away from Lasix/medicine. It’s not guaranteed to have a benefit on 1st use, it might even wear them off on the day. Churchill going out with a puff….much to soon, then stayed on. IMO.Best Wishes
