Hope those who did get Well handicapped 3yo’s were on Kendergarten Kop this evening. Last outing last year second in a seller, this evening first run in a handicap easy winner at 16/1 (BF SP 23/1)

Over the years I’ve tried many of these books including Timeform 50 to follow, Dark Horses and Ahead On The Flat but none of them come close to Jon Gibbey’s Well handicapped 3yo’s. As the title suggests he lists 3yo’s who he thinks will start the season on a good handicap mark. I have used this for a few years now and it is that successful I feel a bit of a fool promoting it and not keeping it to myself. It is a goldmine. Last year if you had backed every horse listed on all their runs blindly (disregarding his advice on surface and distance) you would have had 81 winners from 396 runners and a 64pt profit to 1pt level stakes win. So far this year since the beginning of March there have been 7 horses start on 11 occasions in handicaps producing 4 winners at 100/30, 100/30, 5/1 and 6/4 producing a profit of over 6 pts to a 1p win stake. All these 4 won on their first outing and lost on their next when they were not so well handicapped. If you had not backed them on their second run when their mark went up you would have had 4 winners from 7 runs. Don’t forget these are at SP using BOG or Betfair you would have made much more.
In the book he gives stats for each trainer suggesting which trainer has his horses ready first time and which may need a run. He uses sire stats to suggest what surface and going the horse will be suited by and what their best distance will be.
The best part though is he gives his methods for finding these well handicapped horses which you can use yourself to find other horses.
You can get it from Amazon for £8 or £4 for the kindle edition, an absolute snip.
If ATR does have to close hopefully this will mean the end of the majority of the interminable US and Australian racing, add Dubai and this would be even better!!
If you don’t like it don’t watch it. There are lots of people who have an interest in, and enjoy, watching overseas racings. Why on earth anyone would want other peoples enjoyment stopped when it has no impact on them baffles me.
Charlie McBride fined only £1500 by the BHA, at least Charlie will be able to pay off some of his fine with his winnings from backing the wrong horse

Absolutely pathetic from Rust & Co
Lets hope other countries don’t follow such a bad example when dealing with any similar incident, I’m sure they wont.
Agree it was too lenient but why is it ‘Absolutely pathetic from Rust & Co’?
What the bookmakers are doing. https://www.racingpost.com/news/yarmouth-fiasco/what-action-the-bookies-are-taking/294574?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=Thursday%20News&utm_content=Yarmouth%20bookmaker%20reaction
In fairness the bookmakers deserve some credit here. This is not their fault and this will be costing them money.
I believe the trainer should get a hefty fine and a suspension.

ITV doing racing proud today. Six races from the AW Championships and three from Newcastle.
Yes, it was great that every horse returned fine. Tere were in fact only three fallers which is superb news.
Despite actually getting the winner for a change I am disappointed I missed out on the best bet of the day, a nailed on certainty, someone would have a moan about the starter. For the life of me can’t think what he did wrong.
Have to agree with everything Matron has said.People need to understand the coverage was aimed at the person who doesn’t normally watch racing, and so it should be.Thought ITV did a good job.Again, as Matron said if you don’t like it watch RUK.
First of all thank you David for arranging this and thank you Simon for taking the time to answer questions.
1. What are the main issues that punters have raised?
2. How have the organisations, particularly bookmakers, reacted to your representations?
3. Have there been any particular ideas or firm proposals put forward?
4. Has the forum achieved any particular success?
Astounded by some of the comments regarding RUK. Apalling that a racing channel have the temerity to show one of the top meetings of the year which included the second highest prize money race in the world and the best horse in training worldwide. A horse that is likely to go down as one of the best of all time.
Just because a channel is called Racing UK doesn’t mean it shouldn’t also show oveseas racing. And the argument about what the channel is called totally falls down when you consider a large number of the horses(and jockeys) were from the UK including the top rated British horse.
Yes, the tabloids will always exagerate things you only have to look at the rubbish they print about brexit and immigration to see that but, the statement that they want harm to befall the horses is absurd and without evidence.
Jamie Codd tipped it in a really strong manner in a Cheltenham preview and was laughed at by the others.
From what I’ve read Edwulf looks to have got up after its awful fall & walked into the horse box. This is such great news & really cheered me up tonight. I would like to thank all the veterinary & other racecourse staff at Cheltenham for their great work in looking after the horse.
What concerns me though is that many of the tabloid newspapers were just waiting to report on another fatality & rehash their usual ‘horse racing is cruel & should be banned’ tripe. They should be ashamed of themselves wanting harm to befall these wonderful creatures.
Do you have any evidence at all to support your comments in the second paragraph?
Never really understood the logic of cashing out. The bookmakers only have that option because it’s a benefit to them. In this case I really don’t understand why, if you thought 14/1 a value win bet, you would think an EW bet at much shorter odds a better option.
We’ve discussed this before. I know people like to have a pop at the BHA but they have very little control over the fixture list.
It wasn’t particularly my cup of tea but I think that overall they did quite well. Those who don’t like it can always watch ATR and RUK. To be honest I am just glad we still have terresrial coverage, not long ago that racing had to pay C4 to do the broadcast. Racing on terrestrial TV is very important if not essential to racing’s survival.
Some good points on both sides of debate and people are always going to be divided. Thought the original poster was unnecessarily condescending and nasty though. Luke Harvey may not have been the best jockey in the world but to say he was a failed jockey is ridiculous. He rode in one of the toughest sports going for 16 years and had big race success, suffering several bad injuries before retiring. Hardly a failure.
