when I heard what she said about her reasons for starting up again, it seemed she missed the job and racing the horses. normally a start up trainer wouldn’t get this level of attention or the number of horses she has, probably highlights how hard it is to get going as a trainer.
Wish her all the best as long as she enjoys it and the owners and horses are happy then long may she continue.
Thanks again for running it Bobby- best of luck all

Not having a bet but Good Thyme Johnny would be the one for me (16s currently) . Hes a reserve so likely won’t get in though. Rating of 128 is very appealing.
He is also entered in the durham national on the same day at sedgefiled – UK mark 132.
I imagine with this horses previous liking for cheltenham they will be going for the novice handicap chase at the fesitval so will need a win or 2 to get into one of those handicaps.
Going through fences is just what you can do these days. they are soft as anything. The English national hasn’t been much of a jumping test for a few years on a par with the american version these days.
Its the fault of the inflated handicap marks of the opposition and artificially low one for the winner rather than anything else, good yardsticks pulled up because they couldn’t live with the gallop. A complete mismatch. Definitely a grand national candidate as jumping isn’t really the top requirement in that these days.
I would definitely go and win /place in some of these soft small field graded chases with the horse now and then maybe revert to stayers hurdle for Cheltenham

I’m in the yes camp.
Its been 2 years since I started getting restricted and decided to close my accounts and effectively give up gambling as a serious past time. I respect anyone who puts the time in to do the hours of research needed to make money at the game. Its a mental as well as a financial challenge.
I still enjoy the odd bet at the festivals but this requires a visit to the bookie shop in the village.
I still enjoy watching even when I don’t have a bet, I do find the media coverage of the sport a big turn off these days and the hideous attempts at promoting the sport through racing league/ shergar cup etc. Same as has happened with cricket and the hundred- a pointless addition to an already packed programme that not a single fan was calling for.The game is up as far as professional punters are concerned I think, can’t see how a living can be sustained in the short to medium term with affordability checks etc.
A downturn in the games fortunes could have the welcome benefit of fewer races and more competitive racing but I fear I’m being hopelessly optimistic there. Thank goodness Cheltenham festival didn’t go to 5 days, that would be horrific dilution.
The corporate greed principle of more is better only applies to a few sports and racing isn’t one of them.
I agree with QF the free comps on here are a good way to keep a competitive interest up without gambling.
Online casinos have hardly any overheads to cover, no animals to care for and hardly any jobs to protect to keep the whole show on the road.
Racing has all these mouths to feed and its all funded by gambling.
People bet on all sorts of sports but only racing is funded by the gambling element. All the other sports have other means of funding the game.
Thats why Racing seems out on its own in this debate.
For politicians trying to solve the drug/ crime/ obesity issues is too hard and too long a fight for them to get any recognition for – so they are just looking for relatively easy and quick campaign they can get behind to make it look like they are actually doing something. Hence they blow up “problem gambling” into something much bigger than the tiny minority issue that it is.
shows what I know, won as it it liked
I take your point on Daddy Long legs tinman, I just haven’t been that taken with his runs at all, his jumping has been poor and they will be flying along in this, one mistake and it will be all over.
4.15 Today – This is my first 4 in order:
Rath Gaul Boy First time in handicap- won maiden and novice last twice, acts on good and yielding , stays further won 3 m PTP. Danny up. Could try from the front. Maybe Hedge on the exchange in play for the win.
Samui Close form with Toto Too through dark note- ok 9th in county and then 4th in Rybo- Goes on good / yielding. Only 5 and had a light season
Bialystock 10lbs higher than winning this last year, placed off 1 lbs lower at Ayr, strong finisher. Goes on yielding and Good
Call Me Lyreen Not won for 2 years- 8lbs below win mark in the liffey from 2022. Goes on Good, yielding and soft. Failed chasing last year and back to hurdling this season.
Autumnal any view if there was significant rain overnight near the course?
Great shout with Minella Coconer there Bobby – feels like you have had another good season of it – you definitely put the work in and deserved results.
Win – Nick Rockett (Res- Kittys Light)
E/W- Aimee Djesey ( Res- Slipway)Best of luck all
