    Hi Eddie
Just got back from a great night at Hereford but felt a need to respond to your comments.
The Ebor is undoubtedly one of the best flat handicaps of the season with the top horse rated 109 and even the worst horse rated 94 but justifying my comments there were very few if any un-exposed players. The vast majority of the horses were either solid but classy handicappers or nearly group horses.
I interviewed Brian Meehan on ATR and he said ” Dangerous Midge (the best horse in the race ) could possibly make up into a group horse”!
So while it was a quality renewal it certainly wasn’t classy!!!!
I’m very much a ‘glass half full presenter’ and would hate to tarred with knocking good horses!!!!!!!!!

Details a bit vague at present Dandan but ATR and RUK have teamed up and Aussies will be able to watch the best of British very soon.
ATR is already available down under from Tuesday through to Saturday on the red button service !

If you look back at the horses profile, he’s always been a horse with plenty of ability.
Take a look at the horses run at Towcester when trained by Gary Bridgewater and you’ll see what i mean !

The Ruby/AP argument is irrelevant because peoples opinion’s will always differ, the definitive answer is the jockeys championship.
And like it or not its done on the amount of winners not the standard of winners.
No reflection on Ruby but AP wins hands down !

Thank for your kind words i’m have never been so pleased about having a winner in my whole life.
My mum was diagnosed with a very severe illness the day before and having her with me to watch Wowzer meant more than you can ever imagine. A very very emotional night……

Thanks for your kind words but i can assure everyone i’m certainly not starting a new career.
Nawow is my only horse and he wasn’t getting the trip in point to points so i ran him in a hunter chase.
Great fun day but Nicholls, King and Murphy can sleep easy!

    Hi Firefox
I’ve just got back from Folkestone and have been browsing through the forum as usual and was interested to hear your comments regarding Sam Thomas.
Zacharova’s fall had nothing to do with jockey error, infact he did exactly the right thing in the situation – letting the horse get in deep to the fence to pop it.
Unfortunately the horse didn’t get high enough and paid the penalty. You must be in a minority of one who thought he should have given the horse a kick in the belly asking for a long one in bottomless ground.
I wasn’t defending him through pity but in a genuine belief he did nothing wrong !

Having worked with horses all my working life i feel qualified to speak on the stall handler ‘slapping’ situation.
Caprio is obviously a difficult horse and in my exprience a quick slap or yank on the reins often calms a potentially difficult situation.
The person in question is an experienced horseman and if he felt a slap was necessary – he gets my full support.
I’d rather be slapped on the nose than galloped down a steep hill on rock hard ground !

As i’ve said on previous threads no one is above criticism but there are no set guidelines in the betting booth. (wouldn’t it be boring if we were all the same)
I hadn’t realised i’d not answered some of the emailers because ironically thats the bit i enjoy most along with interviewing the guests on Get On.
I agree there is definitely room for improvement on my behalf but luckily for you Mikky i’m only a part timer in the booth!

For what its worth i was very impressed with the Henderson trained Ravello Bay.
She who won the bumper at Fakenham and will improve plenty for the experience and could end up a champion.
The track was against her but her attitude was second to none !

Not the most polite starrt to an interview but the producer frames the programme not the presenter. Too be honest he was superb as usual hope you backed a few winners

Feel really sorry for Mike he was gutted when i spoke to him after the race.
I’ve tried race calling in the past and its the most difficult job in the world. Obviously If you attempt a high profile job you’ve got to expect criticism when things go wrong but personally i feel sorry for him.
Mikes a good caller and he’ll soon be back on top form !

My favourite horse was Lefrak City. He was a tiny little ex pointer to pointer who looked like The Minstrel with four white socks and white face.
He was the fastest thing on Captain Forsters gallops but was very moderate over hurdles.
But it was a different case over fences winning the Tingle Creek and numerous other chases.
Not the best around but fantastic to watch!

My favourite and i’m not sure how many will remember him – it’s a horse called Lefrak City.
He was a tiny little former point to pointer trained by Capt Tim Forster. I looked after him when he won the Tingle Creek. A legend !

    Hi yeats
Don’t worry i’m not very delicate and don’t mind constructive criticism. Like a jockey if you can’t take criticism you shouldn’t attempt broadcasting and i give other people enough stick so should expect to take a certain amount myself.

Don’t expect me to post on a regular basis but i’ll continue to read and enjoy the banta.
Although Cool Ground won the Gold Cup Katabatic was different gravy. Not alot of people realise that he suffered from severe lung infections other wise he would have been even better. He was class and had gears that average horses could only dream of. A pleasure to ride !

As a frequent visitor to the racingforum chatroom i felt compelled to apologise for my performance in the betting booth on Tuesday.
When i was handed a running order it was i admit very short sighted of me not to realise that there would be a bomb scare at Tralee. A basic school boy error!
In hindsight it was obvious some joker was going to pretend to plant a bomb and i should have made provisions.
I’m also gutted your entertainment was interupted when racing was delayed but i hear from the course the next time something like this happens they will carry on regardless.
Feeling almost suicidal in the booth we then had problems with the sound at Brighton – any close relation to mystic meg, would surely of realised this would happen – being the nice sunny day that it was, and again made alternative arrangements.
And my attempt at commentating well that was a joke. I appreciate with the 3.2 seconds i had to study the form for my first attempt was pathetic.
Once again steve i am so sorry but i have got a good idea why don’t you post me your show reel and i can get some tips on broadcasting.
Yours a very depressed luke harvey
