    Thanks BigG,

    I was panicking when you almost got the November Handicap winner.
    That would have made things very tight at the time.

    Never been this far in a competition before so am expecting to get a nose bleed very soon.

    After my first horse was a “PU” after running as though it’d never seen a fence before ( biased I know , it only missed three of them), was just glad to get something still in sight at the final bend.

    Sorry that Larry never got going for you in the 3.45 , to he honest as my Reserve had won earlier I was hoping to see mine withdrawn at the start with a tickly cough.

    We can both have another go next week :good:

    Ian , your memory is still working well.

    In early 1977 LC (Cliff) Parkes rode a winner at Thirk carrying 7.0 and he certainly wasn’t an apprentice then.

    Also Compton Rodrigues was a 5lb claimer and he won at Beverley carrying a hefty 6.9 – so the minimum weight was 7.0 back then.
