Cripes, this year’s Festival is shaping like a midweek meeting in Ludlow – no superstars …….. OK except Douvan (against what?), and Altior (ditto). Sadly my long range antepost double on Altior 5/1 Arkle & T’crack 8/1 bit the dust today
Hi VTC, hope I’m not late for the transfer window !
Out: Conygree & Sprinter Sacre
In: Un des Sceaux & Neon WolfI watched the whole programme. I was actually very pleasantly surprised at the highish standard of coverage – from anchorman Chamberlain, through the good-humoured banter between the pundits to the clear graphics and results tables. Chapman’s larking about was a bit much but not quite as irritating as McCrirrick – I may warm to him.
I was at Haydock today. It was actually quite a good meeting with a reasonable card and a festive crowd – we even had a streaker ! But the fog was something you could only imagine, especially for the final race. We couldn’t even see them pass the winning post in front of us ! I understand there was a steward at the line and another who had travelled round in the ambulance. I agree, it was a total farce and (the last race) should have been abandoned.
You’re a fine man, VTC !!

YorkhillMany thanks. I’ll forward £10 to the kitty.
Darn, I can’t believe I’ve missed this year’s deadline
Hmmm. R Persad is just mediocrity personified. I’m disappointed Nick Luck isn’t in there as he has proved to be an excellent anchor man. I had got nicely accustomed to the Alice / Tanya set-up on C4 and would have liked one or both of them to be taken on by ITV. Glad however Ms Balding has been overlooked. I’m not familiar with the others but hope some of them might dice with fire and liven things up a bit !
Hmm. I still fancy OFB to run a big race for her in the National ! I like Rebecca – she’s easy on the eye too !!
It’s looking like a hopeless cause, but here goes:
Out: Cole Harden & Dodging Bullets
In: Thistlecrack & DouvanWhen is the transfer window open? I could do with ditching a few of mine !!
Crikey, you’re fast out of the blocks guys! Just checked in after summer ‘hibernation’. Great to see the TTF up and running again. Thanks to VTC & Gord for organising and funding. I agree, a £10 entry fee is to be welcomed. How do I pay Pay Pal ?).
Here are my 10:

L’Ami SergeCan anyone suggest where I might start looking for a new pair of binoculars in the northwest area? I’ve had a trusty pair of Karl Zeiss 10 x 50 for 30 years but I find them a tad heavy and awkward to carry around. I’ve seen a few nice light pairs but wasn’t impressed with the magnification. I’m popping off to John Lewis to try some out, but I’d welcome some sage advice from the Manchester region. Many thanks. Paul
You’re doing a sterling job on this TTF competition, VTC – don’t you have a job to go to ?!!
Out: Taquin de Seuil & Ma Filleulle
In: Djakadam & Saphir du RheuAbsolutely. To paraphrase that great racing sage, Richard Pitman, ‘This is what Autumn is all about’ – cracking racing. Sadly I’ve missed being at Haydock today, being in
Navan, but will miss Navan (Troytown Chase Day) tomorrow as will be on plane home !Impressed with Silvianaco Conti today. Less impressed with Taquin de Seuil. Wonder if there is something up with him.
Many thanks to VTC for arranging to run this – I don’t envy you the challenge – and to CR for the prize money.

The New oneHaving looked forward to the Jumps TTF with great eagerness every Autumn since the Pacemaker days, I am bitterly disappointed with Totesport’s decision to pull out of the TTF. They claimed that it was for ‘commercial reasons’ – hardly surprising that the IT required to support their (unwanted, uncalled-for and unnecessarily complicated) scoring system must have cost a fortune. I do hope that another interested organisation will take it on again. Maybe Channel 4 could be tempted ?!
