Very good win by Nathaniel but can’t see him beating Workforce in the Arc.
Apparently WF returned with a cut in his foot which explains why went violently to the left. Sort of like getting a paper cut on your finger you don’t feel until moisture hits it then it stings like hell.
We know WF is capable of winning an Arc all we know is that Nathaniel is capable of winning a Group 1 when everything goes his way.
My own thoughts are Workforce won an Arc which wasn’t the strongest. He is not the real deal and lacks real star quality.
I doubt if he or Nathaniel will make much impact in the Arc this year.
The French horse despite getting one of the weirdest rides ever seen at Epsom won with an absolute ton in hand and looks head and shoulders above anything the UK has to offer.
Looking back on his other races the perfect ride for Frankel came in the Royal Lodge. Tom Queally had him fairly relaxed for 4 furlongs then let him go taking up the running just inside the 3 furlong marker.
He was hardly flat out, he was racing alone yet recorded an amazingly fast time for the last 2 1/2 furlongs and not the slightest hint of him stopping.
While Sir Henry has said he will be ridden with more restraint I doubt if he means he’ll be tracking Canford Cliffs until the furlong marker and trying to beat him for toe.
If they did that CC wwould be in full flight by then and too close for comfort.
I will be very surprised if Tom Queally does not use Frankel’s amazing mid race ability to leave everything for dead like he did in the Royal Lodge and put this race to bed before it even starts.
