Very disappointing that the Favorite misses the race.

:( :( He could have been Triple Crown Material

The way Pletcher was speaking yesterday was like America had just lost a TC winner :(

Comments about how he could hold his weight and come back a fortnight after a race and how he could stay the Belmont distance gave me that idea.

It’s a shame….and now Rule has been taken out too. Pletcher only has 5 more.

How ironic it’d be if Devil May Care or Super Saver won now for Pletcher or (even more ironically) if Jackson Bend won after trailing Eskendereya all year!

Ryan Moore will be on Dick Turpin. Come on guys thats an obvious one!

Dick Turpin will not be in the race i think he go for 2000 in Ireland.

Hannon said something along the lines of wanting Dick Turpin to run in the French or Irish Guineas but it could depend on what the owner wants to go for.

That was last week gents. Since then the stable have said they’ll both be taking their chances. I was a little surprised but thats what I’ve heard.

I’ll try and find a quote later on.

    Eskendereya out of Derby

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Eskendereya will not run in the 136th Kentucky Derby on Saturday at Churchill Downs, trainer Todd Pletcher said Sunday morning.

    Thanks for the echo.

    Absolutely gutted

EP should be 10/1+ imo. Beat nothing in the Craven in a poor time. Decent horse but not a Guineas winner

Well he ain’t 10-1 you could have had 25-1 and loads at 20-1 like me.

Poor time? Looking at a different one to me it was 2.5 seconds faster than the previous race and EP was slowing down like a class horse.

He’s got overdrive and a different animal now. Hates being beaten – a cracking ew bet at 5-1 with a run.
    :D :D

Also a whole 1.5 seconds SLOWER than Delegator in the same race last year (it was a hotter race in 2009 too).

    Can’t have EP

Gallop was very interesting. Pulled away nicely from his lead horse much nicer than Awzaan pulled away from his.

However, I agree – ridiculous price but could be anything!

    Unless Sidney’s Candy or Eskendereya repeat their big wins in the Santa Anita Derby and Wood Memorial, this years KY Derby looks like one of the most wide-open races in years. Everyone seems to be working well leading up to the race. Here are some recent works;

    http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/ … n-schedule

Lets face it though, it’s not just the Wood Memorial…it’s the Fountain of Youth too!

Eskendereya is one of the most solid favourites in years.

Below Esky, it’s completely open though and there’s every reason to expect a below par performance from him if the pace is too strong.

My dark horse is Mission Impazable.

Super Saver has all of the right breeding angles and a little known jockey by the name of Calvin Bo-RAIL

What was wrong with Donohoe’s ride other than the horse getting to the front too soon and idling? This happens every week in racing. Deal with it

Who cares if they are allowed or not. Kids don’t go to school to pick up other people’s litter. This is symptomatic of the whole problem with the educatiomn system. You think the kids are there to be ordered around. Try teaching them something.

And how is this not behavioral education? I believe it is.

Therefore Crizzy is teaching them something. Stop looking for holes in things!

Criz, if it’s outside the school grounds then you could be asking for trouble even though your aim is to do something good for the environment and to educate the kids not to litter.

I’m actually an Enforcement Officer at my local Council and we actually fine people for dropping the litter! £50 they get charged and they deserve it too!

Anyway enough of that, they’d probably need litter pickers or needleproof gloves. The reason I say this is that unfortunately you find all kinds of litter these days because of the way society is and the last thing you want is a lawsuit on your hands after some kid has pricked themselves on a rogue needle someone has dumped.

My suggestion would be to contact your local Council and ask for the Waste & Recycling Team. There should be a Projects Officer that could provide you with all the equipment and give the school some good press in the process for using their initiative.

Let me know if you need anything else :)

Darren, is this your moment of doubt on St Nic? I had that 4 months ago and got through that

He’s bred to stay. It’ll be fine

Wasnt the worst of McGraths ‘boo boo’s today.

He failed to pick up the fact Ameeq was in front or even in contention in the 4:55 until a final strides before the line. The horse had been 2 strides in front since two hurdles back!

Is there one particular ride that you look back on with fond memories (i.e. your favourite win/performance on a horse)?

Thats Rhythm and Himalayan Trail for me.

Thats Rhythm was going very well in this last year before falling whereas Himalayan Trail has impressed be this season thus far with his gutsy determination to get to the line in front.

    Nice prices too!

I’ll also play a saver on Gone to Lunch (I always back this horse so it’d be sods law if I didnt back it this time!)

Not the greatest of runs from Timepiece but she did get trapped for room twice and finished a non-pushed 4th.

She needs further that’s for sure. She doesnt have the speed for a mile and should come into her own at Lingfield.

Lets not forget, Midday finished 2nd to Debussy around this time last year! That was hardly eyecatching and look where she ended up! A dual-Group 1 winning filly

Write Timepiece off at your peril
