Any tips? Any thoughts?
March 8, 2010 at 18:29 #281207Sagacious.Trained by Jim Bolger is my tip.Though at first i did back Timepiece at 20/1.But i think Sagacious is the horse to win it.
March 8, 2010 at 18:45 #281212you ll be mine for me , stunning pedigree too
March 8, 2010 at 18:48 #281214Seta.
March 8, 2010 at 20:12 #281231I think Henrys well bred and related
Timepiece
will have no problem with the trip, she looks like a Classic contender and would be my idea of an Ante-Post Oaks contender.I have taken 20/1.
March 8, 2010 at 20:42 #281240Timepiece or Principal Role for me. The way that Principal Role won on her debut was extremely eyecatching.
March 8, 2010 at 21:17 #281249Will Timepiece go on fast ground.I was reading a day after her win at Newmarket. And the review man in the post stated she will not want fast ground. After reading this i was put off and went on Sagacious.
March 8, 2010 at 22:19 #281258No one fancies Modeyra? Frankie won its maiden at Doncaster in October easy and called it a ‘fantastic prospect in 2010’.

If Modeyra was a serious Godolphin classic horse I think she’d be in Dubai right now. Theyve always stated that their main aim for the year is Dubai.
That said…..theyve left a few home this year which is an interesting development. Maybe Modeyra is a tasty sort for the Oaks after all..
March 9, 2010 at 22:34 #281415Entries are out next Wednesday so this is a tad premature.

All due respect Z, if someone is looking forward to a race then it’s never too early to start talking about it

This man is correct! As soon as the betfair market opens for it!
March 11, 2010 at 09:53 #281619This race has always been kind to me and kinda prefer it as a betting medium to the Derby.
‘Remember When’ – (I had my last winner)?! err…

Well that has a nice profile and is in the right stable and if it’s anything like big Dylan well…
Not priced by the books though

One top tip : stay clear of the Oxx Aga fillies – always over bet.
March 18, 2010 at 19:37 #283727Entries now out any horses you guys like for it now.I am all over Sagacious. How about you guys.
March 21, 2010 at 17:20 #284671‘Loveisallyouneed’ is nailed on for a place! – (on pedigree)

I will also follow the progress of ‘Tootsie Wootsie’!

Zarkava – this may be a late maturing type so be patient!
March 24, 2010 at 21:44 #285428Hehe foaling dates don’t seem to affect the fillies. Not sure why, can’t explain it. I’d certainly be opposing anything foaled after the 19th May though.
I went through the entries earlier and made up a shortlist of about 8 but it’s on my laptop, will get it now.
Darren, before you ask, Sagacious doesn’t qualify since she didn’t run in or after September. I’ll let you know the stats of horses who hadn’t done this in a sec.
March 24, 2010 at 22:49 #285446So, 11 names on my list.
Aviate
Ceilidh House
Devoted To You
Hymnsheet
Namaskar
Pipette
Principal Role
Revered
Termagant
Timepiece
You’ll Be MineWouldn’t go near Termagant personally. Devoted To You’s by Danehill Dancer, a stallion whose best progeny are almost all sprinters and milers.
Can’t really pick holes in the others at the moment, although Cecil did mention Aviate as a horse who has a lot of speed and probably won’t get further than 10f.
Darren, the stats for horses who hadn’t run after Sept 30th or in the Fillies’ Mile are 1-10-35, Light Shift the exception on September 19th.
